British born screenwriter Gavin Lambert, died on Monday July 18th in Los Angeles aged 80. He wrote and directed one film, "Another Shore" (filmed in Morocco) in 1954 before working in Hollywood for Nicholas Ray (as a screenwriter on "Bigger Than Life" and "Bitter Victory") but occassionally wrote scripts for British films such as "Sons and Lovers" (1960) with T. E. B. Clark for director Jack Cardiff, "The Roman Spring of Mrs Stone" (1961) and "Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?" (1971).
