    Yes, very sad news. He was very distinctive and a great communicator. Didn't he read the news at some time, maybe as a relief announcer? I had no idea he was nearly 70.

    Extremely sad news - often in very perilous situations he had the rare ability to show how it really was without ever alluding to the dangers around him. He was the consumate professional and broadcasting will be the poorer without him.
