Thanks for the pics Ray, keep up the good work, you're an inspiration to all of us!
On the subject of keeping fit I'm going to have to 'prime' myself to climb 200 narrow spiral steps this weekend as the round tower at Windsor Castle is now open to the public, I hope I can make it, I'm more Bernard Manning than Twiggy!![]()

But a mix of the two nonetheless? That is brilliant!
His bulk and attitude; her hair, features and fashion sense? Practically my ideal!
If you could bellow "I'm riding my Honda scooter, you daft ****" in a beery Mancunian accent at the appropriate moment - I'd be in transgenderal-random-1970s'-TV-body-mixup-heaven!![]()
Lol Graeme, you don't half make me laugh with some of the things you come out with.I wish I was as comedic as you.
I did see Bernard perform once, at a Butlin's holiday camp in Bognor Regis, I don't stay at Butlin's these days, last time I went there was a false fingernail under the bed, the sight of it and all the other grime made me want to heave, yuk, I like Twiggy, a really lovely personality, she released a CD to celebrate her 60th birthday last year, I'm going on one of my bi-annual pilgrimages to Windsor for the weekend, no prizes for guessing why.
I like Queen mary's dolls house and the round tower is now open, that'll do me in lol, on the sunday Frogmore house has one of it's rare openings, it's also where the royal burial ground is, my God, I really am besotted with them aren't I!

I saw Manning at Lakeside Country Club the night that thingy off The Deep End did his appalling attempt at a comedy act for that show - a drag act monologue involving him doing the ironing. It died badly. Bernard came on immediately after, looked at the audience and said "What about that **** with the ironing board, eh?" Biggest laugh of the night - needless to say didn't make it into the TV show!
He was a genuinely very funny man - and a charismatic presence on stage. Pity about the racist stuff but that was Bernard, really.
Just wanted to pop in and thank the members of this forum for being a great resource for an American learning about the UK and Britishers. :-)
Well I've managed to make time for writing while working full time - even though I'm parked in front of a computer for 8 hours a day with a 1 hour in between the 4 (my workday starts at 8:00 AM, ends at 5:00 PM) I still do my contract tech writing work, leisure writing, poetry, and need to make more time to watch one of Torin's movies before I go into withdrawal.
(need some biscuits and chocolate to go with the film viewing, too!)
Hello. I'm back!
I've been away from Britmovie for a long time (illness and hospitalisation) but I'm better now.![]()
Welcome back! Hope you're fighting fit now.
God bless the NHS...& welcome back EHV...
I nibbled on another classmate's fish & chips at Stratford, which came from a proper fish & chips place as opposed to simply a pub. It was pretty good, but the fish reminded me very much of the Long John Silver's fast food chain in the U.S.!
So far my biggest likes are egg & cress sandwiches, Pimm's, and Cornish pasties with lamb and mint.
