And it looks like it will be a trio of instruments with Plant doing vocals.

"The Ultimate Gig" has to be Led Zeppelin,Bad Company, The Who, Deep Purple, Rolling Stones, Montrose (look them up), Pink Floyd, The Police, Iron Maiden, and Genesis.

What is your favourite gig?

The Led Zeppelin concert has been postponed for a couple of weeks. What has Jimmy Page been up to?

What about adding Demis Roussos to do the "Pavarotti" part?

Got to ask Edward, excuse my ignorance, but where does Pavarotti come into this?

Might as well ask Rene from Rene and Renatta!

Hi Lord Ted,
A tenuous link but Pavarotti shared a stage with Deep Purple in the past. Ian Gillan told him he did sometime tire of having to sing the obligatory "Smoke On The Water". Apparently, Pavarotti lamented that he was "kinda stuck" with Nessum Dorma!
A mischievous suggestion but it's like at festivals where an off-centre choice can liven things up. Slade at Reading in 1980 and Johnny Cash at Glastonbury in 1994 were memorable and unexpected hits outside of their natural audience. As the great Pavarotti has now moved on to his eternal reward Roussos could pick up the role. He has a great booming voice, even looks a bit like an Opera specialist and has the nostalgia factor.
Have to say that your suggestion of Renee and Renata could be a stroke of genius. There is still something strangely addictive (even after all these years) about their masterpiece of mush "Save your Love". Just look up the video on You Tube...
Maybe Bats could rustel up an amage of Roussos a la Pavorotti?

Don't tell anyone, but I watched Renee and Renatta tonight.

As for Roussos stepping in to do a Pavarotti? I don't think so! Andrea Bocelli could be a better replacement as could Placido Domingo or Jose Carreras who would do a world class job.

Hire a monkey, you get bananas, hire a Rolls Royce, you get class. Gotta disagree this time.

Montrose!!!! A quick burst of 'Bad Motor Scooter' 'Just get on ya Bad Motor Scooter and ride!!!!'' followed by 'Space Station #5' would be enough - you lot have just made an old boy very happy!

Nazareth - fantastic! Saw 'em not too long ago with SAHBs Zal Cleminson .... and I nearly got to see Skynyrd. They were due to play Norwich in 1973 or 1974 on a double bill with the great Golden Earring, Skynyrd's bus broke down on the way and they never got there! I don't think they toured the UK again. A big disappointment for The Bat. Bad Company were a favourite as well.

Bats.

I'm just wondering whether anyone on the forum was lucky enough to see the Led Zeppelin reunion concert last night?
From all reports it was a great show.

Reports are that the lads enjoyed doing the show so much that they are now planning more concerts in the new year.

Dave.
