Does he have a sore throat or is he just a little 'horse'?

Deleted, posted on the wrong thread lol.

That was my origional post which was really funny as it was supposed to be on the `Do you look like your avatar thread` and this is what I put:

I`m probably the same height wise but I haven`t got a tach, I believe that comes in later life.

I should have just left it

    Hi, faginsgirl:

Who's that in your avatar and is he/she holding a pic of Judy?

    Thanks,

    Barbara

Top of the morning, Barbara. I'll answer this one too, shall I (having done so with previous poster Hugh's Beatles avatar at 'Sixties Diary' earlier)? It is in fact 'Artful Dodger' Jack Wild, in later years, who starred in Oliver!. But I'm sure you know him best from Children's series H.R. Pufnstuf, and maybe the film Melody (AKA S.W.A.L.K., which means Sealed With A Loving Kiss). Far too many acronyms in that sentence, Barbara, especially this time in the morning (nearly 2.00).

    Cheery-bye,

    Cornershop

    Hi, Cornershop,

Thanks as always for the quick, well-informed help. I am laughing at my

misidentifying the photo Wild is holding. It must be of Wild as a child?

    Always nice chatting :-)

Barbara, I have just found the picture via a Google search. Clearly a man

(note the 'goatee' beard) and not holding a photo of Judy Garland either!:

Caption: Jack Wild, the Artful Dodger (1952 - 2006)

Was this faginsgirl's original source?: craig calman

This should be helpful in two ways: (1) You can see the picture in bigger and better detail; (2)Whenever someone visits this thread, they will know what we're talking about as faginsgirl is likely to change her avatar again (a rare picture of antiques man Arthur Negus would be nice).

Just checked and yes the photo is of Jack Wild as a child. Charming little boy, wasn't he, a hit as a youth and then a slide down in the field with fewer parts as he grew older, worsened by alcoholism and a sad, early death. Such a shame.

    All best,

    Barbara

Thanks Corner shop, your answer was a lot more interesting than the one I would have given as I`m usually a one sentence answer girl lol. Thanks for the pic blow up too!

Barabara, I wasn`t sure who you meant by Judy at first, was thinking Punch and Judy!

I wanted to close the circle by posting the picture that theuofc was thinking of ... but I can't find it. Can anyone else? This is the closest i came: it's from Easter Parade, and I'm sure I've seen a close-up very like the Artful Dodger one above. Not dissimilar storylines regarding the actors involved, either, sadly.

    Rowdon,

You're a gem! Thanks so much for posting the pic. It is indeed the one or similar to it of Judy that I was thinking of when I looked at the small photo. I was kind of embarrassed at the error, so double thanks for saving me.

    Best wishes,

    Barbara

    Hi, Faginsgirl,

When I look at the photo now, it isn't Judy Garland, so I guess I looked too quickly at your avatar and the image of Judy that Rowdon posted popped into mee wee brain. The rest is history.

    All best,
