And things like that have long been against the law here and are prevented whenever there is any proof. What is more usual is that the girls are taken back to the country where it is still practised - but even that is prevented wherever possible.

Everyone here with any common sense agrees that things like that should be banned and do as much as is humanly possible to prevent it.

I think that the A of C should concern himself with problems in his own church!

I'm not sure if PC has anything to do with it, imho it's partly created by the mess in the Middle East and fear of terrorism. Had we never invaded Iraq I doubt the matter would have arisen.

There's that old saying you can't be all things to all men! So why can't the UK get its house in order and keep all of its citizens in check, wherever they hail from or whomever they choose to worship. If they don't like the law of the land then they have the choice to go through Parliamentary channels to get things changed, or they can simply sling their hook and sod off and live somewhere else.

The US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada etc all have strict immigration criteria to meet and you have to abide by the rule of law or you're out! No-one gets on their backs about it so why can't the UK follow suit? Why do we have this guilt trip about once having an Empire and so we have to make amends by f***ing things up for everyone who lives here?

A good start would be a quick escape from the EU, it just costs money, its full of corruption and offers nothing in return. Our roads are potholed and crumbling and yet we have to pay for new motorways in Portugal and Poland, it's bonkers!

It may have escaped your notice but all the Moslem groups are against the Archbishop of Canterbury's latest crazy idea as well

Actually that depends on where they live. If they live in a constituency where the MP of the political party of their choice has a large majority then fine. However if they prefer another party then their vote is wasted.

I'm not sure the EU is the issue it was back in the day of Maggie and Up Yours Delors; the world's a much smaller place and people are more concerned with putting our house in order. Franky I'm more miffed we've pee'd £5bn up the wall (and a lot of human lives) just to oust a tinpot dictator.

One of many things wrong with the party system of "representative democracy"

This was sent to me today

London Times Obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense

'Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Elastoplast to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers:

I Know My Rights,

I Want It Now

It's Not My Fault, and

I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.'

A bit Daily Mail but what the heck!

I was referring to everybody. If you're a native of the country or an immigrant you have the choice to try and change things via your MP, abide by the law of the land, or if you don't like it you are free to go elsewhere!

Personally if I belonged to a strict religious sect with its own laws I'd probably feel happier living in a country dominated and governed by that religion! Why would they choose to live in this decadent and liberal Western society when it is an affront to their religion? The words "cake" and "eat it" spring to mind! It's nice to cross over to the Western way of life for your pleasures now and again, and then step back over the line to maintain your traditional religious values! Christians have been doing that for years as well as every other religion!

As for the A of C, I think Muslims and everybody else for that matter think he's a bit of a twerp!
