I did read that when Ken was elected Mayor one of the first things he did was to cancel the contract and budget for chauffeurs and limos for his staff and to issue yearly travel cards for public transport instead. I actually find it hard to believe that Ken is driven around in a gas guzzling limo, the press would have picked up on it and I can't find any stories about it. I don't think its true, I think he takes the bus and tube.

So he can't win then? How would you prefer he travel - by teleport? It's possible he has security but I don't see why. If he does, no doubt it's on the advice of the police and not something he has any choice about (just as Northern Ireland ministers keep their security long after they leave office).

a prominent and sometimes controversial politician like ken , travelling alone on the tube ?,did anyone think that he was genuinely alone ? im sorry if ive shattered some illusions but for anyone whos seen ken travelling on the tube alone or queing for a bus ,its called a PR excersise ,and just to even things out tory blairs aka david cameron does it when he cycles 200 yards in front of a lexus
