    No

Although that's what the "o' " in "John o' Groats" does mean, "John of Groats"

It isn't like the Irish names like O'Leary which means "son of Leary"

"John of Groats" was originally "Jan de Groot", a Dutchman who ran the first ferry from the Scottish mainland to Orkney (where the biggest island is also confusingly called "Mainland")

    Didn't I tell you? I'm a genius

I'm just interested in lots of different things

The groat is an archaic currency. When the locals in north Scotland heard the name "Jan de Groot", the closest they could get to it with words they'd actually heard of were probably "John of groats"

That's what makes life so interesting. There are no end of things that we don't know. All of us, even a genius like me

Just never think for a moment that you stop learning when you've finished school or college. They just teach you how to learn things. You should then continue learning things for the rest of your life. It's also good to pass on and share what you learn. It's not only teachers who can teach

you're not wrong there! i spent my school life opposing certain subject teachers because they were disappointed in my lack of interest in certain areas of the subject they were teaching whereas i was mostly the top pupil (remember the term 'certain') the same 'areas' are now my main interest-so goes the old saying 'you live and you learn'!
