A sad end for a great talent,RIP.
Sad, but unfortunately not unexpected. Still, he left us with two of the greatest pop songs of all time, so hats off and I applaud you Gerry and thank you for the joy you have brought to millions. If not billions.
Finally at peace, a tragic end to a tragic story, RIP Gerry and thanks for the music.
RIP Gerry - Baker St has been one the tracks of my life
Sad news. Be at peace Gerry. RIP.
Very sad news.......Gerry started out in a band called "The Humblebums" in the late 60's with Billy Connolly.......Here's one of there rare singles from 1970.....
RIP Gerry.....
Poor fella. I had no idea about his story, being just one of those multi-millions possessed by the wonder of his one pop hit. I can recall passing through Baker Street more than once over the many years since, and thinking each time that it was quite remarkable that anyone had ever supplanted Sherlock Holmes in my initial "word association" mind. But his song did.
A shame it never seems to have brought him as much happiness.
