This is a strange one to say the least....Here we see Francoise on an Italian variety show from 1967 singing in Italian her hit "Voila".....
(i) Chuckle at those embarrassing backing "dancers"...
(ii) Ask yourself why they spontaneously burst into applause DURING the song...
(iii) If you think its odd at the beginning wait until the very end....
Anyhow its a great song....& Francoise is radiant as ever...
enjoy

I know you've heard it before.....but this clip does happen to have the "closest" close-up at the very beginning..(I want it)..
Plus this just happens to be my very favourite song of hers.....and I've heard a few....
This is like an old well loved 45rpm thats been round the block a few times...a bit crackly & faded etc......

Found it at last.......Below is the infamous clip from the Tom Jones Show 1966 in which, between the 2 songs, we marvel at the sight of that testosterone fueled Welshman as he "launches" himself at the coy & demure Francoise......see how she steps back from the onslaught....
He presumably was overcome by her beauty because how else can you explain his inane banter...
Here it is in its entirety ...
Enjoy.

Cheers Sarge, the Italian show is classic tv, how she keeps a straight face is beyond me. Did the female compare mention Sandie Shaw at 4.19. The chequered flags at the start I presume are regarding her role in Grand Prix. Love the ending, early Graham Norton.
Another great clip for you to enjoy, this time from a Belgian TV programme called "Bedazzled" dated April 12th 1963......
Cheers

Amazed.....just found out Francoise recorded a song about me....
![]()
Research & detailed investigations does pay off you know....
Le Sarge has un-earthed a rare interview clip of Francoise from 1967 for the French magazine "Feminin".....
As with the other interview clips dotted around here this one also follows the Hallowed procedure...(long shot ---head & shoulders---close up) the poor cameraman lasted a mere 38 seconds before he homes in on that sublime visage....who can blame him.... it does that in both parts of the interview.....
I reckon that Francoise hair is longer here than in any other clip.....
Enjoy....

They were on some great drugs in the '60's it seems.....
Future husband & father Jacques Dutronc with a zany little tune about Mini's (Skirts & cars I presume)...Francoise relegated to mime on this little obscurity...
I wonder who ..."Bertie..Bertie...Bertie" was....
Enjoy....its rather catchy

Merci Beaucoups!
I have this CD, check out the other tracks, some brilliant selections, all bar one appear in the show. Gilmore Girls is, along with Joss Whedon's shows, my favourite non-Brit TV show ever! Always used to ignore it as it looked for girls only (not helped by the DVD packaging) but was always intrigued by the excellent reviews it got from men. Anyway, I caught it by accident one day when ill, and now I'm hooked. Bought all 7 seasons on DVD plus this soundtrack CD. Music is a vital part of the show (one character forms a band, and swears "on the life of the lead singer of Blur, on the soul of Nico"). As a 50 year old it's not easy to discover new good music (I hate chart music, always have), much easier when you're young (and I had John Peel). Anyway, this show has introduced me to a whole range of classic and new music, e.g. Sam Phillips, Grant-Lee Phillips (no relation), Pernice Brothers, Yo La Tengo etc. I remember Longet from the Peter Sellers movie The Party, but never heard this before. I adore the original (and Brian Wilson generally). I recommend the show highly, one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.
Apparently she also wrote one about your arch-nemesis (I really like this song)
Curses though, Sgt Sunshine, for picquing my interest in Ms Hardy. Bought The Vogue Years and since then I've been surfing for her Englsih songs, which I want to get. But none of her English releases are currently available![]()
I'm glad I've introduced you to some of her music....and its appreciated....
That "Song of Winter" also's one of my favourites too.....There's a stack of info etc I get through her Facebook page.......well worth joining her fan-base...
As I'm a vinyl junkie I have got/will be getting her English output over the coming months/years....You'll have to pop round..
Mind you I'm tempted by The Vogue Years CD for the car....as I do a fair bit of driving.
Cheers
