Ha ha .... that image of Wenger is excellent .... I have to admit your lot do look like they may be in with a shout for a top 3 finish this season. My lot look tired and out of ideas, I hope JCVB can successfully integrate our new 'flair' players into the team, otherwise it looks like a mediocre season for Chelski. Man Citeh do look rather good, but I would like to see how they fare against a better sides than Swansea or Bolton.

R.I.P. and thanks for the memories Frank.
I have always had a soft spot for Wolves since the Dougan/Richards/Hibbitt/Wagstaffe/Parkin era and am pleased they have started well.

Good to see Norwich get a decent start this time, although a 94th minute equaliser for Stoke was a bit disappointing.

Nah, think it'll be Utd, Citeh and Chelsea, then the other three fighting for 4th. Chelsea have Mata and I expect them to buy Modric - they might give Torres some service.

Next weekend sees our golden opportunity as we take on Crewe Alexandra who are 2 places below us & prop up the whole Football League.....
I'm going to scrape together the £20 and join the Green Army as I reckon we could find the net and win this one.....

Another Div. 2 sufferer I thought I was the only one! Aldershot's season started so promisingly with a win at Bradford City....only to lose all three games since and fail to find the net at all Going to be a long season I fear and it comes to something when one is fed up of the season in August

    Cheers Harby...
It only seems like yesterday we were playing the likes of Newcastle in the Championship. Now having been relegated twice in two seasons average gates have dropped from approx 15,000 to little more than 5,000. At least they have dropped the admission charge like I suggested (down from £24 to £20). This weekend they have an excellent chance to win their first match & probably score a goal or two....I'll be there
They should have won on Saturday as they came close during the first half, but gave away two penalties in the second..
Argyle are away at Aldershot on New Years Eve.....
    Cheers

@ Harbottle - so glad to see Aldershot back in the league. Loved going down the Rec on regular basis watching the likes of Banton, Claridge, Randall and Sheffield in goal. So wanted Dillon to become a hero as boss but sadly did not work out for him.

@sgt sunshine - Hope Argyle get back to winning ways. always enjoyed the games against you lot especially when you were 3-0 up with 22 minutes left to play only for the mighty royals to come back and win 4-3. Also Jimmy Quinns rocket in 1994 in last minute for us to win 3-2. URZ!!

Cheers Sid.....Which team would that be...?
We sold all our best players because we're stony broke and have a very young team whom this weekend I feel sure will find the back of the net..

Thanks Sid, praise from a Reading fan how times have changed Ah Steve 'Wurzel' Claridge, total scruff-bag socks round his ankles but what a player, naturally we sold him for peanuts while financially embarrassed (£50k to Cambridge!).

    Sid ....
Here's a link to the final league tables for the 1993-94 season, showing Reading as division 2 champions and Argyle in 3rd place (unfortunate in the play-offs)
I was gob-smacked to see Swindon in the Premiership...

Thankee Sarge, Harby is indeed chuffed and stunned We were all over them even before they went down to ten, but it sounded like it was going to be yet another night we couldn't find the net. Hopefully this result will give them some confidence now

Groan....I was there to witness this sad sorry state of affairs as Argyle slump to the foot of the Football League....
    Read it & weep....
BBC Sport - Plymouth 0-1 Crewe
Still we had a few tries but the team is young & inexperienced so things will take a while to gel.....
Well from now on the only way is up....
    Cheers

That's the problem then. You're supposed to score goals in football. You score tries in rugby

Nope ... I am a Chelski boy. Obviously I have a soft spot for the Canaries and like to see them doing well, but that 3-1 win today for Chelski is OK by me.

I'm not a football purist by any means but Everton Blackburn games would test the mettle of most fans around the world and by all accounts today's game was one of the worst. Still it's three points and at least I can watch MOTD in a relatively relaxed frame of mind. There's quite a lot of unrest among the fans about the direction of the club and it's finances.
