UEFA under fire for faking ‘crying fan’ footage

European football's governing body UEFA has sparked outrage after it emerged that they manipulated footage of fans during the Euro 2012 semi-finals. People across the world were touched when cameras zoomed in on a German fan in the crowd crying after Mario Balotelli put Italy two goals ahead in the first half of their match last week.

ESPN commentator Adrian Healey even referred to the woman as he covered the game for American TV, saying it was "too early for tears" since there was the best part of an hour left in which the sparky Germans could fight their way back into the match.

There was just one problem: the woman - a fan from Dusseldorf called Andrea - hadn't started crying at all, and was stunned to receive text messages from friends back home asking why she was blubbing with so much football left to play.
It turns out that Andrea had actually been overcome by emotion during the singing of the German national anthem before the match. The footage was recorded, then cut into the live feed sent to broadcasters around the world after the Italians went 2-0 up.

Just shows how the footballing hierarchy are manipulating the modern game to make it look like every game is entertaining, I find it difficult getting through match of the day without using the remote a dozen times, Euro 2012 was the worst tournament I've seen and I've watched nearly every one since Chile in 1962 I think.

I thought Euro 2012 was poor as well. I have to admit to finding it hard to stay awake during some games and feeling somewhat nauseous at the commentators having orgasms over Christiano Ronaldo.

I remember thinking it was a bit weird that the woman should be crying tears at that point, as the game was by no means decided.

Was the director moonlighting from TOWIE ? Is Platini a TWAT? I think we should be told......

You need to be told Platini is a twat? Surely we know that already!

Overall I quite enjoyed the Tournament. Spain were wonderful in the Final, but the best Team of all time is getting a little too carried away. It's the usual Pub chat, that discussion has been going on forever about all sports and of course there is no answer.

England as always weren't as good as we hoped, but not as bad as some previous squads, hopefully they will learn how to play pass and move or push and run as it used to known 60 years ago, instead of kick and rush. It's so last Millenium!!!

There were some great games ans some great players and the pass of the tournament by Xavier in the final for the second Spanish goal. That pass was worth watching the whole competition. Now if only he was English........

Surely QPR should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute with their cynical loan of Joey Barton to Fleetwood.

Then he'd be passing it to Rooney, who would not be able to control the pass or do anything with it

Sad news to hear but understandable.

Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba has announced his retirement from football.

"Since suffering my heart attack and being discharged from hospital, I have remained utterly positive in the belief I could one day resume my playing career and play for Bolton Wanderers once again," said Muamba in a statement.

"As part of my ongoing recovery, last week I travelled to Belgium to seek further medical advice from a leading cardiologist.

"But the news I received was obviously not what I had hoped it would be and it means I am now announcing my retirement from professional football."

Gate receipts ? Sponsors wanting to get their name on TV?
Friendlies never seem to be taken seriously, but at least it's free to air.

I know it's difficult to get a full picture in a friendly, but that was a decent performance by the England team last night. They passed the ball well and looked more confident than of late. Keep up the good work Roy.

Following it on the wireless makes my view a bit subjectively reliant on the commentators, but I was rather appalled by one "expert" who intoned that, it was all very well "passing the ball a lot" but it was pointless if there was no "end result".

Nothing like an expert I always say...............

I must admit to being very surprised that Arsenal have sold Robin Van Persie to Man Utd. It's almost like surrendering your chance of winning the title for £24 million. It would nave been more sensible to have sold him to a team that plays in a different league.
On the subject of England last night, I must admit to be rather impressed by the display. It was nice to see us managing without Shrek's persistent squandering of scoring chances and the future of England looks a little brighter today.

So Shrek will be absent from the England World cup qualifiers due to cutting his leg. Must increase our chances of success.
