I`ve never heard of that one Nimuae. Sounds good though![]()
This is a 'true story' film - but I am not sure if it is British or American, though I strongly suspect American. I was wondering if anyone knew if it had ever been released on DVD.
It is the story of an American woman who falls in love and marries a Japanese man around the time of Pearl Harbour. It recounts the prejudice they encountered both in America and later in Japan.

It was a fantastic film - the story of Gwendoline Harold and Hidenari Terasaki (a Japanese Diplomat). They married in 1931 (I had the date wrong in my original post) Their daughter, Mariko, is still alive and lectures in American universities. When her father's dairies were translated they were found to contain important historical information about Emperor Hirohito - Hidenari was his interpreter after the war.
I cannot find any record of the film being released on DVD - even on Region 1.
It appears to be available here:
Bridge to the Sun - 1961 - Carroll Baker, James Shigeta
I don't know anything about this website, though.
