It does look like something unusual, but in my opinion it doesn`t look much like the photograph of the woman they are saying it might be.

I am not convinced either Michelle, i think it would be a good idea to start a Thread all about Ghostly photographs, i think most Ghost photographs are either hoaxes, mistaken identity or (in a small minority of cases) genuine.

    Slow Glass.

The most important effect, in the eyes of the average individual, was that light took a long time to pass through a sheet of slow glass. A new piece was always jet black because nothing had yet come through, but one could stand the glass beside, say, a woodland lake until the scene emerged, perhaps a year later. If the glass was then removed and installed in a dismal city flat, the flat would—for that year—appear to overlook the woodland lake.

Well I don`t think that, but my first sceptical guess about these things is that they are mannequins standing in the window. It is a strange one, because, for a change as with these claims, it does look like a historical figure standing there, going by the clothing, I can even see the lapels. It`s possibly a hoax, in fact it probably is, but I can`t see how it was done if it`s not a mannequin.

The 'figure' just looks like a reflected mix of colour and shadow when you zoom in,the mind interprets these things into objects of familiarity and hey presto-it's someones mums ghost staging a protest by looking out of a window!

Blimey! I`m usually the FIRST to spot what it REALLY is, usually a blur or some hanging debris from inside the building, but the more I look at this picture the more I see a person in historical dress!

I must be watching too much period drama.

You could be right-after looking at it again it seems as though the young Queen Elizabeth II is standing there wearing a stethoscope,a brown cardigan and those spoon shaped earrings she is famous for!!

Elizabeth II, not Elizabeth I then?

That`s where the flaw in your augument comes in.

No,it's the present queen in her youth,'Elizabeth I' didn't have spoon earrings-she had a 'fan' stuck to her neck and no eyebrows!

    Sorry, utter cobblers...

The eyes and brain always try their damnedest to make some sort of recognisable sense out of random patterns or tricks of light and shade.

We "see" what we want to see, but seeing is NOT always believing!

Anyway, I think it's Paul McCartney!!!

...There at the window, wearing a face that he keeps in a jar by the door...who is it for?

    Hi,
The trouble with photographs, both past and certainly present, is that they can be easily faked. This makes it easy for us to dismiss the genuine article, if the picture be one. What can be acheived today with pictures; is incredible. Despite some strange experiences of which I have had, including what I believed to be a ghost sighting,(Referred elsewhere on this website) I must still remain open minded, but cannot be completely dismissive.
