Although actresses still make less in Hollywood than their male counterparts, a peek at 2012′s top earning actresses list shows us some ladies who are making an awful lot of money.

According to Forbes magazine, the top paid actress over the past year is Kristen Stewart, who made $34.5 million. Stewart earned that sum from her roles in Snow White and the Huntsman, and the final 2 Twilight films: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Breaking Dawn Part 2. Stewart is the youngest women on the top 10 list, and by several years. The second highest paid actress with $34 M is Cameron Diaz: her roles were Bad Teacher, What to Expect When You’re Expecting and The Green Hornet.

Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock was third on the list with $25 M (even though she had no box office hits during the year), followed by Angelina Jolie with $20 M. Charlize Theron rounded out the top 5 with $18 million, including roles in Prometheus and Snow White and the Huntsman. The rest of the top 10 highest paid actresses: Julia Roberts ($16 million), Sarah Jessica Parker ($15 million), Meryl Streep ($12 million), Kristen Wiig ($12 million) and Jennifer Aniston ($11 million).

How can Cameron Diaz be getting that kind of money when she had a secondary role in Green Hornet and Bad Teacher was a BO fizzle?

Maybe she was getting that kind of money at one time, I doubt she is getting it these days. It looks like she is not at the top of the A list anymore.
