I've done this for books a few times and haven't had any problems but I guess it's a bit risky and not really worth it for £4.
Risky how so ? would they pull it or send me a warning or something ?

I wish to sell more than just one as I have a fair few I wish to get rid of,obviously not of the same title though.

They won't pull it but the buyer is, I assume, entitled to demand a refund on the grounds that you haven't sent the advertised item (even if you've explained that it's not actually the advertised item). Unless the stuff you have is really rare, I wouldn't think it worth bothering just for a couple of quid. It's always best to add the item to the correct listing if possible.

The only thing that i can suggest is that if you have a video and say the title is listed but yours doesnt exactly match then put yours on and mention the difference in the description thaat you put on.
Unfortunately you cannot list a new item that is not already on the system unless you are a subscriber. So if you only sell the odd item now and again it is not finacially worthwhile. To give you an example i have a large pile of ABC Film Reviews from the 1960s which i would like to sell. However there are only 2 listed both from 1970.So this means that i can only sell the ones listed. The only way round that is in the description to advise potential buyers that i have many other issues available.Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your advice CaptainWaggett/orpheum.

That is a very strange way to run a website to only list what is already on therebut you can not start a new listing unless your a non newbie.

Amazon offers much better protection to buyers than E****Bay...

If an item is not as described, or is a bootleg DVD/tape, and the buyer complains, Amazon will reverse the transaction
so the buyer gets it for free, and boot off the seller (after a warning). For this reason,
'dodgy' sellers much prefer E-Bay !

And.....more thorough financial checks are made on sellers before they are allowed to list on Amazon UK , and 'test' purchaes are often by Amazon agents made to monitor the service provided....

An update on this,I have got to the point of listing the item I want to sell however going through 3 stages that Amazon require I have to give thenm my credit card info this I have gone through stages 1 and stage 2 says the following .....

" Your credit/debit card number doesn't appear to be valid. Please enter a valid credit/debit card number "

How can this be as it has money in my account and the numbers I type in are correct from the card itself so why this now ?

Check the card number you gave.
There is a way to see if a card number is valid or not before they even try to take any money from it. There's a checksum you can do on it. If you get any of the digits wrong then that checksum will fail.

If it came back with that message almost instantly (within 5-10 seconds) then that's where it will have failed

Don't put any spaces between the groups of numbers

Steve

You'll have to try their help desk then. Good luck
They do usually, eventually, get around to sorting out problems

Sorry, can't help with that. They would only offer editing facilities to the person doing the selling - and I've never put anything up for sale there.

Try their help desk. If your question isn't in the FAQ (it doesn't seem to be) then there's an email link there to ask them a question

Just close the listing (go into View Seller Account - View Current Inventory) and then relist it correctly.
