Default Global warming?

Global warming? What global warming?

We've just had a reasonably heavy (for us) snowfall in SW London. Heavy enough to settle on the ground and the rooftops.

We're two weeks past the spring equinox. It's meant to be getting warmer

Climate change is a natural phenomenon. The crap that the human race has churned out into the atmosphere hasn't helped, but the Earth has been evolving and changing for millions of years and will continue to do so. We will have to adapt to whatever Mother Earth has in store for us.

We had our share in Southern Essex too!.........I've read some interesting articles about the 'other side' of Global warming recently, one was in yesterdays Daily Mail....... (yes, I know but I only really get it for the TV mag!)

Why don't the 'Greens' all the rest of them that like to frighten People about 'the Future', just come out and say what they really want to say, like "We want every Human Being to stop using Vehicles, Flying by Air, Stop eating Cow, and we want everyone to live in Mudhut Communes and scrape a Vegan living off the Land".........that's their real philosophy

A few pics from my neighbourhood.........no one going to the Fair today I reckon!

Do you actually know any Greens? Or have any evidence of their secret agenda? Because I don't really recognise myself your description (though I would like it if everyone stopped eating Cow )

I agree that the pollution that we have churned out has been no help, not only to the global environment, but local environment, what we are going through is a cycle that has been going on for millions of years. One Lib Dem MP announced last year that cows farting has an effect on the environment - so what does he propose us to do,put bungs in their arses.
The debate on this issue seems to favour the green "We're doomed, doomed" lobby rather than those who acknowledge that is not a man made issue and as Bats has quitely rightly said,"We will have to adapt to whatever Mother Earth has in store for us."
Man may have billions in whatever currency at their proposal, they may have the technology, they may have the brains, they may have the communication, rulers come and go,but Mother Nature has the casting vote on all our fortunes.

Yes, in an indirect way, the Lady that stands for the Green Party in my Constituency lives close by, she's regularly in the local Papers spouting her beliefs and Martyrdom (such as the short Prison sentences she has recieved when away on Protest, such as Newbury by-pass, Greenham Common, Nuclear Missile bases)

I see her regularly in my local, expensive, Corner shop (she won't shop in Chain Supermarkets) and she dissaproves of People holidaying abroad.

Alright, maybe I went a bit far with the 'Vegan/Mudhut' existence, but I do know that the Greens want to Tax just about everything to the Hilt, they're never satisfied with the annual Government Budget, all they will do is aleniate ordinary working people on ordinary working wages, their policies won't affect the Rich, it's no wonder they hardly garner any Votes at Elections

We've been pouring more CO2 into the atmosphere and the global temperature has been rising; whether that's cause and effect you could debate but it's increasingly likely.

Heed my warning or there'll be more concerts like Live Earth.

Me too Bats!........I particularly like the Irish Steak available in Tesco (oops! Carbon footprints, the Tesco terror!)

Plus Steak is much Cheaper in this day and age, I recall growing up it was an expensive and rare treat to have a Steak!

I think this thread could turn into a lengthy and interesting one, as long as no one minds me asking that we refrain from any personal attacks before they start!

I always like to see both sides of any issue/arguement.......maybe some of our 'Green' members could tell us, as individuals, what we can do to do our little bit to stem 'Global warming'?
