This seems like a good place to post this old favourite.
The Times is read by the people who run the country. The Daily Mirror is read by the people who think they run the country. The Guardian is read by the people who think they ought to run the country. The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country. The Independent is read by the people who don't know who runs the country but are sure that they're doing it wrong. The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country. The Financial Times is read by the people who own the country. The Daily Express is read by the people who think the country ought to be run the way it used to be run. The Daily Telegraph is read by the people who still think it is. And the Sun's readers don't care who runs the country providing she has big tits. |

![]() Most of them just copy the PR handouts, adjust them to fit the stance of the newspaper and maybe make up a few other "facts" if the press release doesn't quite match what their paper's stance is. It's a bit different for the big name columnists. They are just "guns for hire" and will shoot at whatever the editor (or owner) says they should shoot at. Some columnists do write for more than one newspaper or magazine and they give quite different opinions in each. Steve |

Ken's a great bloke. I lived in London in the early Eighties when his GLC first did the zoning fares, which meant I could travel on the underground nice and cheap. I liked it when politicians did things for me, rather than to me. Happy days.

I must say, Ken is one of the few politicians I would trust - pity I can't vote for him.

I get my news from David Brent down under - he seems to know what is going on in this country better than I do

The Mirror in the sixties and seventies was a magnificent paper - popular, intelligent and campaigning. That fat crook Maxwell has a lot to answer for.
