Not sure if you could call London's Evening Standard a local paper but I suppose it is in its own way. Anyway, it's Associated Newspapers, the same group as the Mail and Mail on Sunday.

No wonder Ken holds no truck with the Standard then.

The Yorkshire Post does rather hit one over the head the with old 'Vote Tory' message, as well. some of the columnists are extremely right wing, and the letters page occassionally makes me ashamed of my home county,

i like to buy the gaurdian on careers day to see how my hard earned is being flushed down the toilet on 5 a day advisers and diversity trainers and the like ,although at least some of the job titles they come up with make me smile so i suppose im getting something out of it ,every cloud etc

You do realise the Guardian doesn't make up those jobs, don't you? They're only paid to advertise them...

A joke Shuurleey! The BBC Morning News is a self appreciation society that avoids bad news whenever possible (as George Cole put it 'Keep Smiling'!) Do count the number of female persons talking gibberish that they place on the morning settee (far more than the male number - who also talk gibberish!) They can't resist bringing in small children to discuss a child point even at 7 a.m. (child abuse?) And why are 99 per cent of the speakers - if one can understand them - seem to reside only 10 miles from the river Thames? Scho-lund' Nothunireland' are foreign parts
As for the Daily Mail, it seems most sexist to me with a definite pro-female agenda. Their subjects seem to dominate most pages.
As for News - one must read between the lines as my old mother used to say.

Try the BBC radio news, especially the Today programme on Radio 4.
That plus World Service give good coverage of what's really happening

I suppose that tells us something......The girls hate THE SUN because it has 'Page 3 ' .....whereas the DAILY MAIL has daily pics of the two 'dishy' young royal princes, whether as 'action men' (one week the army, next week the RAF...) or participating in alcohol /drug fuelled sex orgies whilst dressed in Nazi uniforms (what is known in royal circles as 'partying' ....)
