Why not start an "Anti Daily Mail" forum and let this forum go back to what it was,a friendly and fun forum about British films, with no left or right wing diatribe?

You can't really divorce politics from art. Most writers, directors and even actors have a political view point and discussing this is a legitimate way of trying to understand the film.

The "let's keep politics out of it" brigade are usually from the "common sense" right. Natural Dailly Mail readers, actually.

Marky B - this thread is on the "off topic discussion" board and you - or anyone else who doesn't like it - do not have to read it.

Have you tried talking politics on a news and/or politics forum? People go nuts if you disagree with their point of view and it all degenerates into name calling.

It's nice to discuss different subjects here from time to time because we all have something in common and make out points in an adult and/or jocular manner.

We can disagree, but with a smile and a wink. As someone else said about Britmovies, it's a bit like being in a nice warm pub with your mates. I have mates with quite right-wing views, but we're not going to fall out over it.

The "let's keep politics out of it" brigade are usually from the "common sense" right.

As a some time Guardian/Observer-reader what I want to know is, in these days of 'we're all Hezbollah now', where is the 'common sense' Left?

The only material paper I still buy is Private Eye. I read both The Gruaniad and The Times online and use my own judgement to divine where between them the truth lies.
