I think Heather Mills is courting the papers and playing the bad guy on purpose. I may be wrong but I get the general indication that she likes to be a catalyst for spurious hacks. She seems to know exactly what she is doing and gives the press every oportunity to get that evil looking photograph of herself.
She'll make even more from the press in the States with all her lurid chatter.

Is she really the person that we see in the news and on the screens of our TV's probaly not but then who the hell cares, well! some do so I suppose--- there be lots of money to be made with the right angle.

a newspaper [ which will remain nameless , im not getting onto arguments about papers again ] called someone in the news just lately [ also nameless here ] a slattern ! when was the last time you heard that word ? it seems as a society more scorn can be heaped on a woman percieved of wrongdoing than a man

Poor Pat, and Lady Isobel, I'd forgotten all about Richard Madeley and his shoplifting charge (not a hard thing to do!).........I believe it was in a Tesco store, there was a local case in my area a few years ago about Tesco's over zealousness, two women were charged and then eventually acquitted, but in the time intervening it caused a lot of stress and marriage strain for the woman 'involved'.

Maybe Tesco is the Daily Mail of British Supermarkets!

Remember when some joker phoned the R & J Show and asked, "next time you're down Tesco's, Richard, can you get me a bottle of Scotch?"

Quite a few celebs have been accused of shoplifting, Wynona Ryder must get the prize for the most brazen display of stupidity, all caught on camera. The press certainly had a field day with that, the question they asked was quite reasonable though......WHY?.....the girl must be worth millions! Stress, pressure, phsychiatric disorder, under the influence of drugs etc were the various theories put forward, didn't seem to ruin her career completely though she certainly made much fewer films after the incident. Woody Allen wanted to cast her in a film but couldn't get insurance for her on account of her being a felon on probabtion.

I remember a few years ago,I went in a newsagent and got a Radio Times and the TV Times (before they were allowed to combine all channels in one mag). I then went to a cafe for a coffee and sandwich, and when I took out my money,I twigged I had more than I should have done. I then realised for the magazines. I ran back to the newsagent (half expecting cops to be there) and confessed what I had done, but admitting it was a mistake.
"We never noticed" was the reply.

Yes, I know what you mean. Oliver Reed was a 'hellraiser', but Amy Winehouse is a sad druggie. Any famous man who puts it about a bit with the ladies is still looked upon in admiring terms, while Paula Yates or Ulrika Johnson were regarded as slappers.
