I think Control had all the hallmarks of being directed by a photographer/music video director rather than an established film director - it looked wonderful but was pretty uneven throughout.

I saw JCC in a London pub a few years ago (he was drinking rather than performing) - couldn't miss him with the shades, the hair and the interestingly coloured pinstripe jacket...

Not forgetting Bob Marley and the Wailers of course.

I saw them live at the old Rainbow in Finsbury Park and what an experience that was.
Before the concert, groups of West Indian youths were trying to batter down the exit doors from outside, so as to gain entry without tickets.
All through the concert the air was thick with burning hash.
There were a few pickpockets working the theatre and "gangstas" outside.
I was lucky to hold onto my wallet and make it to the tube without being mugged.

For all that though, the music was fantastic. One of the very best live concerts I have been too.
