drug dealers breaking into prison and prisoners refusing to escap

My local prison has a nice library. Surely that's worth breaking in for?

i read that some of the crooks in prison actually feel safer there ! ie if they owe money to drug peddlers on the outside etc ,its a sad reflection on society as a whole that should be ,criminals should fear the law no matter where they are ,

If I owed money to a drug dealer I would prefer to be somewhere safer than on the street where he could get me. That's got nothing to do with the facilities in prison, but more to do with not wanting to get my balls cut off!

But he's more likely to have mates in prison that won't mind doing him a favour, and it'd be harder to run from them. You're safer on the streets

But they would be more likely to just duff you up a bit in the nick, ball removal would be a bit too messy (and noisy) to keep quiet inside.
