I d love to visit a film set in the UK are any open to the public.

None of the major studios are open to the public - as they will tell you, they are still working facilities. You need to keep an eye out on the internet for club events being held at the studios, but then these are often confined to certain areas only, so you can't expect the Grand Tour...

The James Bond Fan Club used to do a few events at Pinewood, and Carry On Line regularly lists comedy events held there too. Borehamwood Town Council have just started opening their plaque unveilings at Elstree to the public, so it's just a case of 'keep 'em peeled'...
