Dancing round the maypole i dont know if anyone still does that i used to dance round the maypole as a child at the school i was in then. Another school i was at because its the month of may its the month of our lady so every year a may queen was picked and they placed a crown of blossom on the statue of our lady after a parade through the streets i was the may queen one year and thought i was so important.

Jumping off Magdalen Bridge in Oxford - not the most sensible of traditions since the river is only about two feet deep at that point.....

But most "May Day" like in Oxford are the choir singing the Hymnus Eucharisticus from the top of Magdalen Tower at dawn

About a dozen people have jumped off Oxford's historic Magdalen Bridge as part of its traditional annual May Day celebrations.
