What I can remember, without trawling through loads of books, is that Flynn, in patrnership with some businessman, provided 50% of the financing for William Tell. Bruce Cabot, whom Flynn had been friends with for many years was given a part in the film. About halfway through shooting the other chap withdrew his money and left Flynn up the creek. He tried to find more finance and ploughed more of his own cash in but the film was doomed. Cabot, fearing he was not going to get paid, went to Flynn's rented house and removed all his Flynn's suits, jewellery and whatever cash he could find. He also took Flynn's car. He sold this stuff and then, when he got back to the US, Cabot sued Flynn for his money!

As well as "My Wicked, Wicked Ways" I would also recommend "Errol Flynn: The Life and Career" by Thomas McNulty.
A great read - and at the end there is a section with thoughts/tributes from those who knew/met Flynn - like Tony Curits. I think that Flynn was - and still is - the ultimate film star. Also, check out this website - ERROL FLYNN: Jack Marino's Salute to the Fabulous Flynn !. Some great picks of Flynn's Yacht "Zaca" and his Hollywood pad, Mulholland Farm.
