Errol was certainly one of those chaps who was popular with both men and women, what I mean by that is women loved him and men admired him and wanted to be him! Sounds like he had a good life, making the most of his good looks and charm to seduce the ladies

he was an adventurer who loved the sea, had a more exciting life before films it seems. Im hoping Rory is daughter might visit her and put in a few memories of hers about her fathers. would be nice, have asked her on her site.

It wasn,t just that. The guy was an adventurer without fear. if you read

the biographies ( even the crap one by Charles Higham), his life was

fantastic. The dullest parts for him were the years in Hollywood. I think

his biggest regret was not being able to serve during the war because of

medical reasons & yet pretend to be the great hero on screen!! it

destroyed his soul!!

maybe it did, he was some man, I remember reading about James Stewart they wouldnt allow him in the army because he was so skinny, and he managed it, allegedly by not going to the loo for a week, true or not Im not too sure.

Flynn was good friends with legendary film camera man Jack Cardiff and there are some very entertaining stories of their friendship in Cardiff's autobiography " The Magic Hour" Cardiff was involved in Flynn's last aborted film " William Tell", its interesting reading.

Flynn's autobiography is a great read .... he knew how to tell a tall story. During the William Tell debacle he was really stiffed by one of his best 'friends', Bruce Cabot.

I'm starting a thread of Film Annuals in case anyone's interested, I've already put one in the 'Robert Newton' thread. Would other posters be interested in adding theirs?

The Adventures of Robin Hood is the best film ever made. That's all.

Cabot was a lowlife! Patrice Wymore did an interview on TV and explained

exactly how much of a friend Cabot was!!
