Default European Cinema in London

Hi, I'm new to this forum so excuse me if this question has been asked before, I tried to search the forum but didn't get any results for what I was looking for.

So, I wanted to ask if anyone knows any cinemas in London showing mostly European movies and/or old movies?

Thanks

Get yourself a BFI membership and seek out the National Film Theatre on the South Bank.

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

Sadly the days of a range of independent cinemas showing a range of older films have long gone except for the NFT, the Riverside in Hammersmith (if you're in that part of London you may wish to check out their Sunday afternoon double bills) and occasional double bills at the Curzon Soho. If you're at all interested in old films and you live in London, NFT membership really is essential. But even they don't show the range they used to thanks to their policy of picking one film and showing it 37 times in a month and the lost of the Tresures from the Archives season

Try the Curzon in Curzon Street, between Park Lane and Berkeley Square.

I suppose the NFT is the obvious recommendation, but standards have fallen shockingly there recently. They don't even seem to have projectionists who know the proverbial from their elbow at times.

As the others have said, there not really one cinema that exclusively or even mainly shows European and/or old movies. But there are quite a few places that show them occasionally.

There's a London Cinephiles email list which has some useful details of screenings. Send an email to london-cinephiles-request@jiscmail.ac.uk for details

I'll second that, its my local cinema and one of the best in London with a very large screen. Curzon Mayfair, Curzon Street W1, nearest tube Green Park. Not to be confused with its sister cinema on Shaftsburry Avenue which is also worth a visit but the Curzon Street venue shows almost exclusively foreign language films.
