Default Expressions not now heard.

My old Nan used say "Oh Gawd blind old Peter" What old Peter had done to deserve blinding I never knew.

Another one was "Brrr....it's as cold as the devils dick"

Old cockneys had a few as well.

"Me nose is runnin' like a grand national winner"

"If brains was dynamite you ain't got enough to blow yer 'at orf"

"If you had half a brain you'd be dangerous"

"Flittin' abaht like a fart in a funderstorm"

oh, and so many more

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle!

You could have knocked me over with a feather!

Well I do declare!

Fancy that!

Fie for shame! (My nana used to exclaim this when I ran starkers from the bathroom up the hall to the bedroom after having a bath.)

My Dad (1911-1959):
He's a very nice cove.
You blighter! (road rage)
Fair go!
That's just not cricket! (not fair, not right)

I recall that my Grandparents would use the expression "It's a right Royal caper" when anything went wrong.
