I once spent a summer getting up at 4.30 in order to start work at 5.00am frying 500 doughnuts, then rolling them in sugar and squirting jam into them (that bit was fun for about the first 10). Then it was onto the Cornish pasties (but you really don't want to know what went into them!)

In the early 90's I worked for, albeit very briefly, a well-known construction company as a ditch digger. We were digging so that sewerage drains could be loaded into the ditches we had dug. The weather was awful - constant rain and occasional hail and snow showers made me permanently wet, cold and muddy. There was no cover from the elements, so at lunchtime we had to find shelter underneath the nearest trees.

I have in my lifetime worked for Greggs. Slave labour!

I worked for a chinese company in England called Tin Lung (no offence to Chinese people but this group of people were WEIRD). It was a sewing factory where if you lasted a week you were doing damn well as they sacked anyone who they thought wasn`t good enough or fast enough to do the work without training!

You got shouted at if you could`nt understand thier language either as they were rubbish at English!

H.Samuel was pergotory at the height of the Chrismtas rush a customer came in and told me that the assistant manager said she could have a set of glasses with some money knocked off because there was one missing in the set, I checked it out with the assistant manger he said it was ok. I started to wrap the glasses up and got stressed as a sea of faces were at the counter waiting to be served in my panic I broke another one, so the assistant manager said she got have what was left of the set at an even bigger discount.

The manager was always shouting at me.

When I was a student nurse, many moons ago, money was a bit of an issue and a friend of mine asked me, as I was on a couple of weeks leave if I would help out on her parent's chicken farm while they were on holiday. In my city girl naivety, I imagined throwing corn to happy clucking hens in a yard and collecting big brown eggs in a basket, In reality, of course, it was 3 aircraft hanger sized battery sheds, the noise, the smell and the sight of those poor hens horrified me, am ashamed to say I worked there for a week, but since that time have only ever eaten free range eggs, in fact it was months before I could eat one at all. Horrible!

I did a few jobs as a student, but it would have to be working for one fast food place that really sucked, basically the manager was a cow, they expected you to carrry up 3 long flights of stairs boxes containing frozen hamburgers each weighing about 15Kgs, you spent your late shifts cleaning the kitchens down, toilets, restaurants and finishing after 2am. But the worse was after explaining in my interview that I had asthma triggered by cold, they thought it would be a good idea to make me do a stock check in the walkin freezer. I left after that.

Out of desperation when the kids were young I cleaned a pub, my god the toilets were a nightmare, really disgusting to clean, cant think of worse job . I watched a programme once with Tony Robinson and some of the jobs from the old days were awful, dangerous and sickening.

I once had a job as a customer services rep.
The company was called Mycock & Sons and they sold electrical goods.
I had to answer the phone with "Hello, Mycock's electrical". It was very embarrassing.

The most boring job I had was making thousands of sandwiches for a company with the initials T.H.F.
