More than likely, just like the hapless inmates of the Nazi Concentration camps.......Totalitarianism, that's what it is, I've never revolted against anything before but this ID card issue is filling me with anger!

Goodnight Donna, sleep well.......I think I'd better retire to my pit also......before I explode!!!

They're definitely compulsory in France. About 15 years ago, armed police came into a hotel bar I was in and demanded ID cards from everyone. It was a bit intimidating facing a machine gun and trying to explain in bad French that I was English and didn't have one!

They have us taped and tapped with every step already the ID card is a nice way to put it all together. My fear is wrongful arrest and can we really trust the State?
These are the real worries.

I think a much more sensible idea to ID cards would be to implant us all with ID chips like they do dogs, that way we can all dispose of the traditional hello and hand shake greeting and just go around sniffing each others behinds.

Here's a thought - if these papers (and there have been several instances now) had not been handed in to the news media, would we ever have heard of their loss?
The frequency of these episodes reminds me of a quote from 'Goldfinger'- "the first time it's happenstance, the second time it's circumstance, the third time it's enemy action".

i thought that when i heard more papers had been lost yesterday .someone on the radio said that they were attempts to sabotage browns premiership .although this kind of thing has been going on since blairs day and still no safegaurds are put in place ! im half wondering if the order to lose these things isnt coming from the top , " isnt it lucky a terrorist didnt find them ! ,we need id cards and the like in case they one day do " then again i could just be talking rubbish as usual

Of course we wouldn't.

I wonder how much the papers paid for the news - I'm sure if I found anything like that I'd take it to the police rather than the papers.
