So what's the distinction between a novelty record and a comedy record ? I assume a record by an established comedian is not a novelty record, am I wrong ?

Peter Sellers of course put out many novelty records. "A Drop Of The Hardstuff" being one of my favourites.

Then there was - Bernard Cribbins ("Right Said Fred" ect..)
Sid James ("Our House" single)
Peter Cook and Dudley Moore
Mike Sarne
Michael Medwin
Bernard Bresslaw
Hylda Baker
Arthur Mullard
The Royal Guardsmen ("Snoopy" songs)
Alan Sherman ("Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah")
Monty Python
ect...ect....

Dave.

Must be included 'Spike Jones'

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

Oh withut a doubt.

I heard a recording last year {dunno who by or when made} of a parody of "The very thought of you" Went something like this >

# The very thought of you, and all I want to do, is take a gun, a knife or axe and sodding well murder you, I see your face in every monkey, your eyes are pools of shit, and every time I've seen you, I thought I'd had a fit. #

Forget the rest

You can find Dinner With Drac on YouTube if you want to revive a memory. Actually, the lyrics are quite funny - The hors d'oeuvres were fine, but I choked on my wine, when I found that the main course was me!.

Does Danny Kaye qualify? (Toby The Tuba, Little White Duck, Ugly Duckling and more).

"I want to be a sailor - sailing out to sea"
