Do you use scissors with your right hand because they are right-handed scissors?
You can get left-handed scissors, corkscrews and many other things.

To play golf left-handed you'd need different clubs but cricket can be played either way with the same bat

Actually, there are left-handed bats. The bottom edge of the blade is not symmetrical - it is more rounded on the offside of the blade.

Admittedly, the difference isn't quite so obvious as in golf clubs!

Despite being totally left-handed, I could never get away with left-handed scissors. I put that down to be so used to compensating for using right-handed scissors when I was young.

All the best

Steve - I grew up using right-handed scissors in my right hand., and I suppose it's just stuck. It feels perfectly natural to me and the thought of using them in my left hand makes me cringe!
When I first picked up a guitar, it felt natural to play it 'the right way' around.
I can do good 'mirror-writing' with my right hand whilst writing with my left - this seems to amaze some people, but I thought everyone could do it!

Aren't we a funny lot....

I use my left hand - to scratch the back of my right hand or my right elbow when they itch

Left handed children used to be forced to use their right hand. Either just because of the lack of left handed equipment or because people thought it was sinister (literally: on the left)

Left-handers have enough problems in a mainly right-handed world without being forced to use their non-dominant hand

That is so impressive! How do you find out facts like that?

One of my colleagues at work announced that he was ambidextrous but if he needed to do anything with one hand, he’d use his left.

Because I'm left-handed and remember reading about it as a boy. Consequently, when I needed a bat, I searched out and managed to find a left-handed one. thanks to an over-indulgent pater.

I can't think of anything that I'd choose to do right-handed, though there are some things that I'm happy to do with either hand - such as using a screwdriver.

All the best
