That Boards of Canada vid is excellent MB

I went to see Camille O'Sullivan last night. A favourite of fringe festivals all over the world, she presents a bravura and occasionally hilariously shambolic mixture of cabaret and performance theatre, whilst constantly swigging red wine and intermittently changing shoes.

Rather than relying entirely on old chanteuse standards she performs songs by Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Bowie (her rendition of Rock n Roll Suicide is one of the best live performances I've ever seen). She's on tour this week and this is one of her few Youtube appearances from Irish TV.

He was rather fond of watching this one ...

At the risk of sounding controversial again (yawn) I think someone may be trying to make a point re my misogyny comments - however..I may be wrong...

http://medical-dictionary.thefreedic...y.com/Misogyny

Prolonged producing of videos/pictures of half naked men or women - not hatred..

But, in my opinion.. a bit wearisome.

15 minutes a day at the Cillian Murphy appreciation page - enough for me..

As ever, just my opinion, one of many differing opinions on the board and none of my business, really!

In as it's a happy dance-round-the house tune from an underrated band, and a fine example of why men should refrain from dancing.

The M&S clothes adverts have got music in. Noemie Lenoir is the cornerstone of those adverts of course.

Well, if you told them I designed it, d'you think that might help?

I don’t know whether this will cheer people up or make them sad. But I was reminded of this today and I used to play them to cheer me up.

A few years ago, they were tipped by everyone to become huge, the new Madness.. and some etc.etc. Then the frontman Billy Leeson was viciously attacked in London and was so badly injured that they decided they couldn’t continue without him.

Some people will listen to it and absolutely hate them. But that’s OK. I think it comes with the territory for bands such as this. They were once reviewed (they put it on their own website) as ‘Less a band, more a bunch of idiots arsing about on stage.’

But they were very entertaining for those that did like them and would have been a badly needed injection of fun, I think.

Is anybody familiar with this remarkable bit of history?
Nice animation,as well.

"In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. "
