Default bleeding back seat drivers!

Good evening,

Is your other half a back seat driver? Mr FG doesnt drive but constantly comments!

"Watch out for that car"!

"Are you in 5th?"

" What we waiting for?" (at traffic lights)

The most annoying thing is if I get too close to the car in front he will make OOOO
or HMMM sounds.

BUT the MOST annoying thing of all is the sentence

wait for it.......

"He`s letting you out"

I BLOODY KNOW

xx

Not my bloke, but my mum. At least on the rare occasions she comes out in the car with me now (says it's all too fast these days).

Like, I was trying to light her gas fire the other day for her, 'cause it's a bit tricky to do...

Mum: You won't be able to do it. I can't.

Me: Well, I'll give it a try.

Mum: It won't come on, you know.

I light the fire. Need to hold the button in for a while whilst it warms up.

Mum: You have to hold in for ages.

Me: I know. I am doing.

I decide I've held it for long enough. I let go. The fire goes out.

Mum: That's gone out!!! Da-da-daaahhhh!!

Hey guys, I'm a back seat driver, but never had a car in my life.

I'm "second driver" due to the drivers poor concentration and problems clouding their mind. Before I was a back seat driver, I was in a smash. What was the driver doing? He was talking about his girlfriend and the arguement thay just had. He didn't keep his eyes on the road. One good thing happened though, I got a lovely payout from him.

I was in the car the other day and saw a couple 'swapping over' at the traffic lights... clearly after some heated exchange!

She looked very unamused.

Had the lights already changed to green?

He probably said "What are you waiting for?"

The thing is - you knew it was the man making the fuss didn't you!?

I always let them drive...because I really don't mean to generalise - but - generally - most women just want to get there in one piece - the finer points of gear changing are irrelevant aren't they?

Years ago i used to take an elderly woman to committee meetings. She was a driver but it was easier for me to collect her.You should have heard the language from her if any other driver commited a breach of the Highway Code.Every 4 letter word was used.Yet although a very forceful lady she never used that language anywhere else.

My missus only drove mine once and said she didn't want to try it again, so we don't have the changeover problems. I still keep her on the insurance policy............in the hope

She's never been a back seat driver, in fact I couldn't wish for a better navigator.

My mother-in-law? Different matter although..........have you guessed? She has never driven

Funny thread.

I love driving. She doesn't care one way or the other. I hate being a passenger. Ugh. I would be a pest if I were in her seat. She is perfectly happy.

She is almost never a backseat driver, with one exception: she tends to defend other people when they cut us off, tailgate, etc.

"Maybe that nice old lady who is half an inch away from our bumper and can hardly see over the steering wheel is having a bad day. Maybe she is worried....Tim - do you think she is worried?"....

"I think that man who is cutting in font of you on the highway is probably in a hurry because of a serious family problem. I just hope he is alright...Did you see his face? He looks concerned...."....

"Oh - I think that car full of teenagers is trying to get ahead of you....Why don't you let them into the lane?" ......

Like a social worker defending orphans.

I say nothing. Absoultely nothing....

Aren't backseat drivers useful? Or does the psychology of driving make you feel in control?
