Default rude people on other sites

Hi.

I just wanna say I love this place, even if we disagree we still have repect for each other and always seem to kiss and make up

I have been on a few different forum sites (not film sites) and some people just use the internet as a means to argue and be nasty to other people. It is awful that some people have such enormous egos and are so closed minded, there is no need for nastiness and clickiness when people just wanna make friends with those they have things in common with. But I suppose thats the way of the world.

Has anyone else experienced this?

There, thats off my chest. Hope you are all having a nice (possibly your last) day on earth.

FG xx

Yes i agree this is a great sight and as you say if people do argue they quickly make up again, i think we just have decent people on here and other sights just role out the rudeness and are there just for the sake of arguments and to put their point of veiw across even if it upsets people so a big clap for our happy sight.

Live each day to the full because one day it will be your last.

I think is a good post!

For quite a few years, my ex and my son were using forums (my son is moderator on two) and continually coming off in a bad mood about some person or another saying this and I didn't really understand it.

Then I joined a forum and it was a bit of a shock. There really are a whole new set of rules - between men and women, between people of widely different opinions and how you deal with it. I'm not very good at it.

I take everything personally and ask the people in my 'real life' if what they said has any grounds, or rather - I used to, I am learning that what is said on the internet only matters if you let it. It cannot affect your life.

I like forums because you can learn so much, it is a window on the world when you are in on your own.
The only downside being people who use the freedom of anonymity to 'crush' others over an issue that they might be struggling with themselves.

I don't like to generalise - but it is mainly men and it is sad. I have had many male 'friends' and aquaintences in my real life and I think it is miserable when people sexualise or use a forum to behave as they would in an 'abusive' relationship (Not here - but I have had that a couple of times - I think I must give off needy and vulnerable. Which there might be an element of truth in - but I'm also strong and openminded - and entitled to be treated reasonably decently wherever I am - as is any woman or man. The laws may be different - but everyone has to sleep at night.)

Someone gave me a set of very good piece of advice once and I wish I could stick to it: Let people makes asses of themselves, you don't need to help them and remember, you decide whether you walk away from a situation intact - not the other way around.)

I try to stick to it.

I can't believe that cameraman posted!

EDIT - oh god my posts are so much longer than anyone elses..I wish I could stop that.

When I met Fell in Richmond, I said much the same thing. The only other forum I view that comes close in the ImprezaSport forum.

Long may it continue.

I have been involved in the odd ruck or two on here and been insulted on more than one occasion. Also, I have said things that I have regretted later. However, like most other people on this forum I don't hold grudges and it is good to make up and carry on. This is a great forum and IMHO is the best one on the net.

By far the most pleasant forum I frequent

I've found nothing but good humoured banter here - and also an astounding knowledge-base on the world of film too.

Try visting some of the PC game forums I go to :

Try the motorsport forums if you really want to watch the testosterone rising when the season comes to a close and the boys put their toys away for winter
