His reputation is always tarnished by that game where he only had 8 players on the field ,3 having been sent off and he then claimed that one of his players was unfit so the ref had to abandon the game.If you believe him it was refs to blame for The Blades relegation

I do think that West Ham should have been docked points and the fact that they weren't is a disgrace .... however, every cloud has a silver lining and if Sheffield United had stayed up we would probably still have had to put up with Warnock. Now that he's gone I wish them luck in trying to get that ruling overturned, but I don't think it will be.

what about Boston 6 years ago.Fined but not docked points for financial irregularities,Dagenham should have been promoted in their place. Now Boston go down and the Daggers go up.Justice of a sorts.

I don't think financial irregularities should be penalised by points docking ... the West Ham case was different, they were playing a player who wasn't properly registered and he was instrumental in keeping them up.

just think for a minute.a club makes irregular payments to say its top goalscorer to ensure that they win the league and he doesnot go anywhere else .I think that it is worthy of points deduction.I dont see much difference.Sheffield United should stop moaning and get on with life back in the CC Championship.

Fair comment. Perhaps the whole system needs to be overhauled and mandatory punishments laid out for each type of offence, including points deductions. Then this whole farce would be avoided, 'cos it's bound to happen again.

If any club fields an ineligable player in any FA competion there is only one punishment, expulsion from the competition.I think it happened to either Bury or Rochdale very recently.

It was Bury. The same should apply to the Premiership. You field an ineligble player, you lose points. Everyone would know where they stand and there would be none of this current nonsense.

In fact this did happen to AFC Wimbledon in the Premiere League of the Ryman League. They were originally docked 18 points but this was reduced to 3 on appeal.

The Ryman League bosses should perhaps pass a few hints on to the idiots who run the Premiership ....

The only trend in all of this is that there is no trend. The chiefs at the FA and Premiere League make up the rules to suit themselves. In fact i have just remembered that the other North London team(no not Barnet or our reserves)had certain financial irregularities prior to the involvement of HRH Alan Sugar. They were expelled from the FA cup for the following season and i think docked points.HRH was not a happy bunny and as a result the FA changed the decision and let them back into the Cup.

It's clearly a farce as West Ham ripping up Kia Joorabchen's contract with Tevez was symbolic rather than binding. There's no way he's WHU's player as no club would loan their best player to a competitor for 2yrs.

And I see now it's been extended to accusations of money laundering.

Unless we can get off to a good start, and keep banging in loads of goals to build up the confidence, I fear you may be right.
