I am more concerned about that potential Champions League semi-final!
It's nowhere near over yet ,but if we beat liverpool on Sunday the pressure turns up a couple of notches on Chelsea and Arsenal.
The feeling in manchester is that Chelsea are the bigger threat , and whatever happens at Stamford bridge points will be dropped by somebody.
Fergie seemed fairly happy tonight and apart from a bloody nose for Vidic no more injuries. You can bet your bottom dollar the team that finished tonight won't start on sunday , nothing will be taken for granted as United can effectively end Liverpools challenge (they are outsiders but can still mathematically win the league ) and increase the gap at the top .

I hope your lads are thinking the same way you are bats and concerning themselves with a POTENTIAL semi-final ,thats all the distraction they need to slip up

I May be getting older ,but I refuse to grow up

"The Football Association is to review the rule preventing Cardiff qualifying for Europe were they to win the FA Cup.

Under FA rules, City, who face Barnsley in the semi-finals, would not qualify for the Uefa Cup as Welsh clubs only qualify through their own competitions.

Uefa president Michel Platini promised to intervene to help Cardiff and the FA is now reviewing its own rule.

"The FA is considering its position on European qualification for the winners of the FA Cup," said a spokesman.

"Historically, the understanding of the FA has been that Welsh clubs were ineligible for the Uefa Cup should they have won the FA Cup.

"The question of eligibility for Welsh clubs has not arisen for many years so it is only now appropriate for us to look at the issue afresh.

"At this time, there has been no definitive decision taken as far as this year's FA Cup is concerned."

What a corker of a game. Brilliant end to end attacking football.
A Premiership classic.

Do not rule Chelsea out yet. I think there will be plenty of ups and downs between the top four teams before the end of the season.
At this stage I think it's still too close to call.

A bit of a drubbing for the 'Pool ...... fingers crossed for Chelski. It's looking like a draw at The Bridge so far.

God bless Steve Bennett, Ashley Cole stays on the pitch for trying to amputate Hutton and he sends of Mascher for dissent. After the midweek gaff there was bound to be a sacrificial lamb to balance the books.

Hoo-haw! Good ol' Droggy! I agree about the 'Pool sending off, one word out of place was bound to get harsh treatment today .... Eboue should have joined him though.

C'mon Bats , stop being diplomatic , Mascherano didn't stop abusing the referee from the moment he got his first yellow card

Right or wrong the sending off ruined the game as a contest.
Mascherano's first booking was within the first 12 minutes. Surely a first warning by the ref would have been sufficient at that stage.

Some referees are getting mightier than the game and are making quick decisions that can make or break a teams season.

Dave.

Lol, this can only be the prose of a Manc, the originators of ref seige mentality. It's fair enough Mascherano going 'if' the rule is applied consistantly henceforth.

I fail to see how the referee spoiled the game as a contest , surely Mashcerano let himself and his team mates down ?
He persistently harangued the referee, and some of the language directed at the referee warranted a red card . I think the ref gave him plenty of leeway but the player decided to keep pushing and got his just desserts.

Should a first warning be administered for a bookable offence just because it's early in the game ? If that attitude were adopted you are encouraging cheating.

Unfortunately Dave refs have to make quick decisions , and some are absolutely diabolical ,this wasn't one of those incidents.
