True or false it is preceived as a truth. Man Utd. have a much more vibrant history - Munich, Best/Law/Charlton, Beckham and constant success. Arsenal have all that history and now all that style, but Chelski what does it stand for ?

Me I dont support any of them.
Why single out Chelsea .... what about Newcastle, the perpetual 'sleeping giant'. Or constant 'under achievers' Man City. Middlesbrough are exactly drowning in a glorious history!

I get fed up when people single out Chelsea this kind of criticism. It is only since the success of the past few years that this sort of comment has been applied to Chelsea. Before Roman appeared no one was bothered about their history .... how about the new regimes at Pompey and Man City, do they not deserve similar criticism, or is it purely that Roman has more money than anyone else. Money doesn't buy guranteed success, you have to get the right blend of players and tactics and keep it going for ages. Jose did it .... Fat Sam couldn't.

Also, current Chelsea players like JT, Cech, Lampard really do play for the team and have a great rapport with the fans. Something that is decidely lacking with some Premiership clubs. Would Yakubu turn down a move elsewhere if it was in his best interests. Where was Rooney's loyalty to Everton or Tevez to West Ham (another team with a marvellous history - not!).

Chelsea are creating their own history as they go along .... which means they are not living in the past like Newcastle or Leeds (the Chelsea of the 70s, always on the wrong end of criticism) etc.

There are very few players who really play for their clubs or fans these days. You only have to listen to the likes of David Bentley and Lassana Diarra to realise that.

Latest speculation is that Chelsea are lining up a move for Kaka.

Dave.

I'd rather keep Droggy .... I don't think Kaka is any better than Anelka.

Understand your reaction to the touching of a raw nerve.
Chelsea are simply the team to hate, which goes with the territory of success.
They have far surpassed United and Arsenal in this respect.
Apart from this though it is far from surprising-
3rd Richest man in world buys hitherto unsuccessful club, with the sole purpose of turning it into a Frankenstein Monster.
Appoints Jose Mouhinho who in turn appoints himself as ' The Special One'.
Instills in his team a similar arrogance.
Play a brand of powerful, percentage football with a safety first tag.
Have the ability to out bid any one.
Achieve immediate success over two seasons.
Sack TSO,and appoint a low profile Israeli.
Internal strife looms large.
People scoff accordingly 'I told you so'
Next move..............

Manchester City beat Chelsea in the Youth cup last night, the former being assembled at a sixth of the cost of the latter.
Can't see what loyalty has got to do with things anti-Chelsea.
Players will come and go, some of it's about passion and a desire to play football
some of it's to do with a seriously large pay packet.
You can't cite Rooney and Tevez as being disloyal ,otherwise what are Lampard and the two Coles doing at the Bridge?
West Ham have always had a sturdy reputation for producing attractive if largely toothless football, but they also boast that hotbed for producing a plethora of young talent in 'The Academy'. Moore, Peters, Brooking, Cottee, Lampards snr and jnr. Cole , Carrick, and Rio Ferdinand to name the obvious.
All I can say is that it will be interesting to see how Chelsea can progress with new management. They have extremely talented players, it is down to the best way of harnessing them.

Your post just illustrates everything I said .... it's OK to criticise Chelsea, but criticise anybody else and it's 'oh no you can't say that, Chelsea are much worse!"

I can cite Rooney, Tevez as much as I can anyone else if I wish to illustrate a point. You really must be a Reds fans as I notice you didn't speak up for Yakubu.

If you read back over my football related posts you will see that I am very objective in my praise and criticism of Chelsea. I am probably the least biased person on this forum when it comes to my football team, so the 'raw nerve' comment is a bit unfair.

People can carry on criticising Chelsea's dour perfromances by all means .... I just wish they didn't keep prattling on about them being worse than everyone else in the Premiership when it comes to greed and hypocrisy.

Good Lord, you are sensitive creature Bats.
I can't see how my response was in any way shape or form a typical Redrant.
It certainly isn't biased nor is it hypocritical.
I merely summarised as follows:
Understandable why Chelsea are unpopular.
Players will go where best to further their careers including Mr. Yakubu. Loyalty has nothing to do with it.
West Ham have produce some of the finest talents in English football.
Manchester City's youth team is in good health.
I hope Chelsea can prove doubters wrong and find a way forward as they have the potential to be a great team.

I am a football fan first.
Hope that clears things up.

I despair at this taunting of Bats, given their victory over Everton, neatly allowing us to rest players ahead of meeting Chelsea on Tuesday, I'd live to declare my short-term admiration for those southern mercenaries.

I can't wait for next Tuesday's match against those Northern Mercenaries .... whoever wins it should produce a few laughs!

Maybe the biggest laugh will be over Manchester Utd and Chelsea.
