I know it's not Leeds fault, but surely that isn't fair? The FL have sure made a balls up of that one. I think they should let who ever finishes out of the promo spots or misses out completely have a crack at the play-offs.
If the points were given back then what will happen is that 2/3 teams above us will take legal action against the FL if they rule in our favour,I suspect they will give us some points (maybe 5 at the most ) that way it will keep everyone happy (well some anyway ) and the FL do not have any legal stuff to deal with and keep face.

The problem is the FL probably expected us to go down to D2 after they gave those -15 points.......but we kind of stuffed them on that one as they did not expect us to be in this position now (6th place in League One is not bad going given we were given -15 at the start ) .

Hey Batman.........this is Football after all so do not expect it to be fair!!

I suppose giving us the -15 points was not fair but it was given never the less,I have never come across a situation like this before in football and I suspect that FL did not expect it either, good thing they do not run the country hey!! .......or maybe they do.

Why they waited so long to sort this out as it could have been done a while ago.

We may get into the Championship even without the added points or help from the FL anyway and come at the end of the season we may stick 2 fingers up at the FL as a bonus .

"The arbitration hearing into Leeds United's 15-point penalty has confirmed it will make its decision by 1 May, before the final game of the season."

So some good news there.

The injustice of the Leeds points deduction was that it was not any existing rule being enacted (That deduction had been given the previous season) , but was invented and voted on by our rivals especially for us....like Turkeys voting to ban Christmas. The Football League have throughout behaved appallingly, and have amazingly managed to get Leeds fans behind Ken Bates....up to a point at least.

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

Why exactly was the 15 point deduction imposed?

"The Football League Board agreed that, notwithstanding the manner in which this administration has been conducted, the club should be permitted to continue in the Football League," said a statement.

"Consequently, the board has decided to make use of the 'exceptional circumstances' provision within the League's insolvency policy, for the first time, and agreed to transfer the club's share in The Football League to LeedsUnited 2007 Ltd. Accordingly, the club's share has now been transferred.

"However, it is acknowledged the club did go into administration and has been unable to comply with the terms of the League's well-established insolvency policy.

"As a result, the board determined this transfer of membership should be subject to Leeds United having a 15-point deduction applicable from the beginning of the 2007/08 season."

Which announcement neatly ignores we had already had 10 points deducted for going into admin at the tail end of the previous season....punished twice for the same 'crime'. Meanwhile the idiot who put us into that position will be prancing around Wembley while draping himself in the Cardiff scarf ....but he will soon do to Cardiff what he did to us, be sure of it.

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

The *neatly ignored announcement* is to make the FL look good and not for Leeds Utd,which is why we took it further than the FL obviously did not feel we would.

Indeed 25 points deducted in total and we are in 6th position which is pretty good considering where we were, somehow the FL did not think we would do that good.

If we do get our 15 points back (highly unlikely ) can we have a *stick 2 fingers up at the FL* emoticon added here please ?

You're right Bats, never say never .
We've got a tricky one today at Blackburn ,and It wouldn't be the end of the world if we only got a point.
I think you need to beat us at the bridge to win the Title, and there is definitely no sound of a fat lady singing yet

1-1 at Blackburn so it's all down to next Saturday's game at The Bridge. Even if we beat them and win all our other games we still have to hope they a point elsewhere. It's a tall order but it could happen. However, if they beat us or get a draw, it's all over. Ho hum .....

I'm not sure WHU at home and Wigan away will prove much of an obstacle. Wigan might have put up a fight for survival but I think they're safe from relegation now.
