Lets put it this way if we had got the same sort of treatment from refs that Fergie gets, then we would have won the Premiereship .You and Chelsea are in the same bracket as Jack Walkers Blackburn in that you bought success. The difference from walker is that he did it with his own money

Are you really that naive? Basques cheering on Madrid, and here's Inter's thoughts on AC

For a while the gratitude Inter fans feel towards Liverpool shone through this vibrant, passionate occasion as a huge banner was hung above the 5,000 visiting contingent saying "Whatever happens, Istanbul 2005, thank you Liverpool'', in reference to that famous victory over hated rivals AC.

Has Professor Wenger been giving you grief over the phone again Orphs?
You'd think after a hard fought seaon was over he'd take a leaf out of Oddball's book and go and eat some cheese, drink some wine and catch some rays on the Cote d'Azur............................wouldn't you?

Well whatever the outcome tonight, it surely can't be a worse match than the 2003 final between AC Milan and Juve.

I hav elistened casrefully to what Arsene Wenger told us at a shareholders meeting a couple of weeks ago. What he says makes sense. He is not prepared to bankrupt the club, unlike the Glazers. To Abramovitch 700 million is small change.Read what has happened to Gretna it is a very instructive lesson and one which might have some relevance in years to come to the 2 finalists tonight.

Read the post properly db7 ,I said fellow countrymen ,I wasn't talking about local rivalries which for SOME are all important and all consuming to the point that they can see nothing other than their own little version of the world .
I'm not naive ,but I would hate to live in your bitter world ,unlike you I can watch another team and congratulate them when they play well (even Liverpool )so regardless of tonights outcome ,remember It's only a game

And anyway more importantly in our household today, it's the cats first birthday

I May be getting older ,but I refuse to grow up

I'll go along with that Orpheum, in fact Wenger has an Economics degree doesn't he?
I'm all for wage structures and shrewd manoueverings in the transfer market, and I'm all for Arsenal's brand of football.
But please don't suggest that the only reason United won the Premier League was because the Referees Association decided to hand it to them in some sort of Masonic ritual.
It is rather silly isn't it?

Precisely, many Basques do not regard themselves as Spanish and a large amount of the Liverpool/Utd fanbase couldn't give a flying fish about England or an English team winning.

I'm far from bitter, my brother is a Utd fan and when we last won the EC the Utd fanzine website he frequents (Redissue) shut down for 24hrs in mourning! I do enjoy the tribalism if not taken to ridiculous lengths and would hate to see the game pruned of it's passion and left to a bunch of 'Jolly good show' Guardian-reading gayness.

PS. I think you'll win tonight.

Who mentioned Grame Le Saux? (allegedly)

Whatever your allegiance, I hope you enjoy the game tonight.

COME ON CHELSEA !!!!!!!

Ps - if Roman did pull his cash out this horse wouldn't give a flying f--k ..... if you live by the sword it's quite possible you will die by the sword. There will always be a Chelsea if some form or another.

Bats,
With your fair mindedness and good humour I almost find myself forgiving Drogba for dumping us out at the semi-final stage...
Any pre-match nerves?
Will be interesting to see if Ronaldo can finally put to bed his "doesn't do it at top level" tag. My bet is he will shine tonight. Similarly, Drogba has to silence some doubters in this regard. Maybe Lampard will upstage them all and show some of his old form again.....

I am now about to leave for the game (not Moscow, the house of my mate who's got a HUGE tv) and am looking forward to it more than anything else I can remember for ages ..... I expect a few 'squeaky bum' moments.

However, if the ITV commentator (when it gets to the last few mins) says "we're entering Teddy and Olly time" I may put my foot through that screen!

He says it virtually every time Utd play in Europe ..... and it gets on my wick!

ManU dominated the first half, Chelsea dominated the second half.
The extra-time was even so 1-1 was a fair end to the 120m.
Didier played like dogshit and deserved to be sent off.
JT (not known as a penalty taker) showed great balls in stepping up to take that kick.
We were literally one slip away from glory ..... ho hum.
An absolute corker of a cup final ... the best I've seen for ages.
Congratulations to ManU.

That's right, they're all out to get you, those refs are really shapeshifting alien lizards who are taking control of the planet by failing to give every fifty/fifty decision in favour of The Arsenal.
Orpheum, you are David Icke and I claim my ten pounds.

Bit of a Bay Window, what??
