I think I'm one of Icke's "lizard people", the reason I say that is because I have green skin.

We were literally one slip away from glory ..... ho hum.
An absolute corker of a cup final ... the best I've seen for ages.
Congratulations to ManU.
Unlucky Bats , your lads are a credit to you and the game .
I think the game was worthy of the final and the balance certainly ebbed and flowed. The two best teams in the premiership showed they are also the two best in Europe, and there's not a lot between them .
Unlucky Chelsea ,but well played

I May be getting older ,but I refuse to grow up

Yes the two best teams in Europe. Top game. As tense a match as iv'e seen.

Commiserations Chelsea, but congratulations to Manchester United.

I did feel sorry for Terry & Grant but thats how it goes sometimes. I think the

planets were in alignment for United in this game, what with the anniversaries of

Munich & the 68 final & Giggs beating Bobby's record. It was in the stars maybe!

United's victory was meant to be.

A wonderful victory in honour of the Busby Babes.

You won't find a single gloat in farmer Scholes pen.
When penalties loom, to be quite blunt I couldn't give a flying alien lizard who wins. Both teams gave their all in an enthralling tie.
I did feel sorry for Frank Lampard who was game enough to be interviewed during United's celebrations.
I'm sure Chelsea's day will come.

I am convinced that Michael Essien must be fed on a healthy diet of Pedigree Chum. He could have run all night.
Same could be said for Tevez, who for one so small demonstrated that dummies and rattles can be hurled a long way.Why Drogba had to become embroiled in the ensuing spat I shall never know.
Ronaldo seems to have a fetish for turning on the waterworks regardless of the result.
Ballack similar antics showed that you don't have to set fire to a German to stir his emotions.
Fergie looked a complete tw*t in that white shell suit when he knows full well that such attire is best reserved for those on the other side of the East Lancashire road.
Probably the best Champions' League final since Real Madrid (inspired by the formidable Fernando Redondo)beat Juventus 1-0.
Congratulations to both teams.

Congratulations to Scholes and Smiffy. Commiserations to Bats.
Hope everyone had a good time. Chelsea will have gained a lot psychologically by going so far, the experience will be invaluable.

I wonder if Fergie will call it a day now or try to equal Bob Paisley's achievement of three European Cups, two of which were in consequtive seasons.

Must admit I only caught 45 mins then nodded off, then woke up in ET. Unlike Scholes I thought it a pretty average game and typical of that from players after a long hard season; can't say anybody stood out bar the keepers and a few players were well below-par (Drogba, Rooney) whilst others (Rooney, Lampard) played well within themselves. Seemed to be a battle between Utd's attacking spirit vs Chelsea's dogged self-belief. A cruel end and sad that the gap between success and failure is so narrow.

The tragedy for Chelsea was that Drogba was meant to be taking the fifth penalty.
Drogba's stupidity in getting sent off put the pressure onto another Chelsea player.
I admire Terry for having the bottle to step forward when needed and take that penalty. But for his slip it could have been a whole different story.

I wonder how many players from the current Chelsea squad will be around next season?
Drogba may be a very talented player but he certainly is not a Chelsea team man.

Dave.

I must confess Bats, I've yet to acquire a taste for ladies soccer, perhaps because I have two spns and no daughters. But my boys play in pick up games in Long Island in the summer and there's a ca handful of very talented girls.
