Poor old Rangers. Their spirits must be as flat as a pancake.

Avram has now gone as many expected. Frankly I think they'll turn into another Madrid with a revolving door of managers assigned to coach players chosen by Roman/Kenyon/Kate.

In one season to finish runners up in the CL, PL and League Cup - sacked!

Why would anyone want the job - apart from the king's ransom that they'd receive.

All the best

I am sorry to see Avram go and so, I expect, are many other Blues fans judging by the conversations I have had recently.

I wasn't best pleased when AG got the job but I have warmed to him immensely and I don't think anyone else could have done better this season. He was 'lumbered' with Jose's team and suffered all kinds of absenteeism problems during the campaign.

I think he should have been given the chance to show what he could do with players of his own choice, but they did the same to Ranieri and I expect the next (highly paid) lamb to the slaughter will be subject to the same pressures.

I wish Avram all the best and I hope he gets another job very soon.

I have to say it just makes me dislike Chelsea all the more. Avram by any decent person's standards had done an excellent job and by season's end had warmed me towrds his team. Now I just think of Czar Abramovitch (?) as the "Ugly Russian" throwing his stolen money around and Police Constable John Terry - they deserve each other. Come to think of it why doesn't Roman sack PC Terry for missing the penalty ?

He would have been sacked regardless of the results. I think he was little more

than a fill in for Mourinho till the end of the season. The pressure on the next

Manager ( & team) will be enormous! Nice guys come last in this game!

Wadsy, if you are being serious what a sad and sorry lot Chelsea are. You mean to tell me even if Avram had won Chelsea their first Champions League trophy he would have still been fired ? That is truly a despicable concept and (for me) goes way beyond the "nice guys come last concept". Do you support another team (I do) and are just trying to wind people up. What do the Chelsea supporters here have to say.

Just my opinion. I'm certainly not trying to wind anybody up. It didn't take em

long to get rid of the guy did it? Not a lot of faith shown there. I am a Man Utd

supporter & I truly felt sorry for him, he was put in an awful position.

Exactly. Grant has been a 'Dead man walking' for some time.
Obviously Grant thought that he would keep the job as he now states that he's been let down badly by Chelsea.
Grant's "best mate" Roman promised him the world and has now stabbed him in the back.

The ridiculous thing about all this charade is that Roman and the Special One are now reported to be good friends again.

Go figure.

Dave.

The odds on Mourinho returning to Chelsea plummeted overnight.....

Obviously no one knows what has been said in private since last October but we know he was given the job with a brief to produce 'entertaining' football. . He was unable to produce an 'entertaining' team because he had to use Jose's boys.

If they had won a trophy he would have been given more time. Allegedly he was offered his old job back but declined so he goes with 3.5 years worth of wages in his pocket.

Football is a mercenary business in the Premiership and it's only going to get worse. Look at the Sven situation at Man City or the Newcastle debacle, the big money men rule the roost and will continue to do so.

Bats, so how much do you reckon Avram has been paid from becoming manager to getting fired ? isn't Abramovitch just setting himself up as a "Money tree" ?

Hard cheese penfold, still not being promoted to the Premiership means you will see your team win some games next season. The gap now is so vast that surely the pleasure has been taken of reaching the top flight?

Maybe your other team will have better luck in the PO's today?
