The Special One has gone to Inter and Sven has gone to Mexico.

The Premiership will not be quite the same without them.

Hope they can still appear on 'I'm On Setanta Sports' with Rooney.

Dave.

Spare a thought for Gretna, expelled from the league, wound up and closed down. The ground to be sold for purposes other than football.Just think that could be Old Trafford in 10 years time, although the sale of Ronaldo might keep the bankers off their backs for the time being.

Any idea what Gretna's fan base was Orpheum ? Probably considerably lower than Man Utd's. Also the brand recognition of MU has got to be considerably greater than Gretna's. I don't want to spoil the relish with which you ponder Old Trafford's demise, but it might not happen as quickly as you'd like.

the village of Gretna has 3000 inhabitants but of course its name is known worldwide as young couples would go there to get married when they did not have their parents consent. So i am sure that there are millions of people in the far east grieving the loss of the team and its disappearance from the football pools.Mind you there are probably less than 3000 United supporters who actually live in Manchester. So Gretna have a far superior fan base

Seems no one wants the Chelsea managers job.

I wonder why?

Breaking news.
Ronaldo has stated he wants to play for Real Madrid but ONLY if they are prepared to pay him and Manchester United what they've been publicly stating over the last few days
ie. £300,000 per week and 100million Euros respectively.
Now when you consider that Roy MacFarland was on £5000 a year in 1972, with Derby County, it really hits home how effective Global brandism is these days.

Money has nothing to do with it then .... it's the glory and the challenge for our Cristiano.

I know, he's only prepared to leave United as long as the cash is so good, only an ambitious fool that wants to 'realise his dream' would turn it down.
A touching gesture I thought to Fergie and god knows how many adoring supporters.
Unless he was thinking that £70million would service a tenth of the Glazer debt.
He is indeed an altruist then.

I have just had a great idea. Why dont United buy Ronaldo either a tobacconist,a pub or grocery shop or plumbing business to supplement his wages.Surely that would seal the deal.

They would have done had Martin Edward still been Chief Executive!!
He spent the summer of 1996 haggling over £50,000 with Sparta Prague for Karel Poborsky.
