You look at that Spurs side and you can't see one player who's gonna get stuck in and fight .... they're all a bit 'fancy Dan' which isn't gonna help them in their current situation. They need Ledley back ASAP, some serious midfield grit and a decent striker, otherwise 'they're doomed'. Woodgate has been a particular disappointment as I rate him very highly. Newcastle showed a bit of fight at Everton so maybe JK kicked a few asses.

I see they've had a footy finance summit today and they estimate the EPL clubs are 3bn in debt, 1bn of that down to the top four. There seems to be fears that West Ham might go under due to their owners and the collapse of the Icelandic banks.

On the quite I hope Liverpool go next and those two cowboys are forced to sell. Not that RBS will give them anymore money anyhoo.

As a Hammer's fan, I would like warn you all that the West ham board is to be trusted about as far as it can be thrown. The Icelandic owner claims most of his money comes from outside Iceland, but who knows if that's true. With all the events of the last couple of weeks he must of taken a hell of a whack in the wallet. I guess we shall see, but don't trust what he/they say !

They lost the heart of the team when they let Robbie Keane go....his face when they won the Carling Cup was an absolute picture

UEFA chief Michel Platini just cannot help himself when it comes to criticising the Premier League. He has now attacked the influx of foreign owners and players into the Premier League.
Also, if he had his way, he says that in future he would not allow teams who are financially in debt to play in the Champions League. This of course would affect teams like Chelsea and Manchester United.

Platini, firstly, is a hypocrite. He is a Frenchman who played most of his time in Italy because of the higher wages being offered.
I also think that Platini and UEFA are worried and blatently jealous about the growing strength and worldwide popularity of the Prem League compared to other leagues in Europe.

The Champions League without Chelsea and Man.U. would also be a joke.

I just wish that he would keep his biast ramblings to himself and keep his mouth shut. He is not fit to hold an important position at UEFA. In fact he is becoming something of a joke. He and his pal Blatter make a good comedy double act.

Dave.

The English teams may be in debt M Platini .... but at least they don't get caught match fixing like the Italians!

At least not since the 60s!

As an English Man United fan, I hate to admit it but I think M. Platini has a point - seemingly any two bit crook with a few hundred million is allowed to buy a club here. The criteria for passing the 'fit and proper person' test must be an absolute joke. The previous owner of Manchester City shouldn't even have made it past customs.

The game here is being drowned in a sea of dirty money and shady loan transactions. When the bottom drops out of the market and these charming individuals all up and leave ( the Glazers included), where will we be then?

Is it just me ? Am I being flim flammed, or is Rio Ferdinand sarting to talk like a real leadrer of men ? Being in NYC my footballl info sources are limited (BBC Sport, Sky Sports News, Guardian and various other supporters), but he appears to be speaking up on a number of England team related issues - racism, booing and wag culture. Looks like a good sign from over here.

Liverpool fans are angry at the UEFA decision that Atletico Madrid must play next Wednesday's Champions League tie at least 200 miles from Madrid.
Atletico were punished after their fans were charged with racism.

This now means that the travel arrangements for Liverpool and their fans are up in the air. It will probably mean bigger travel costs for all concerned.

UEFA should put that right by making Atletico play the home tie in England as well.
After all, why punish Liverpool FC and it's fans for something Atletico fans are responsible for?

I wish there was a bit of common sense, for a change, from those running UEFA.

Dave.

Heard this one today.

What's the difference between a triangle and Spurs?

A Triangle has 3 points!!

Even I had to laugh at that.
