For anybody remotely interested .....

FIFA Women's World Cup - England v Argentina - 1pm Kick off - TODAY !!!!!! Live on BBC2.

If England win 2-0 they will definitely go through to the quarter-finals. It should be an exciting afternoon of 'girly' football.

Bats.

It was a calculated risk - based upon a lack of alternatives and his willingness to put himself at risk. It wasn't a liability when he helped us beat Argentina earlier was it?

Funnily enough Englayed played without him since last world cup. Funnily enough we were absolute crap as I recall. Euro qualification was a major doubt what with the results being so bad. That's why he was recalled to the squad wasn't it? Because results had been so bad without him?

You see...we are disagreeing.

If they follow the example of the England mens team then they'll bottle it and go out on penalties in the quarter finals.

Isn't it strange how the women don't foul each other routinely, like the men do. They'll run alongside, trying to get the ball but ultimately allow the other player to get past if they're faster or more skilful. In the men's game, the opponent would just deliberately hack down the other player as soon as it became apparent they couldn't beat them fairly..............

Reminds me of a game I used to play thirty or forty years ago.......

The goalies are a bit ropey though. Three free-kicks, three goals conceded.....

Default Let's hear it for the girls

This is a fabulous result and isn't it now about time that we viewed the women's game with the respect it deserves instead of sniggerring like schoolboys? More importantly, do they swap shirts at the end of the match?

The Americans take them off and wave them round their heads - so let's hope we lose to them in the Quarters......

Apart from the goalie reference, not quite the in depth girly footy analysis I had in mind. Oh well, it's a start.

Bats.

ps - good picture of Sepp!

Wait 'til the Aussie team shows up.....

When I said it reminded me of the game thirty or forty years ago, I was actually being nostalgic rather than critical!!

I realised that .... I was attempting to be 'humourous' myself, mainly with reference to Edwardg's post.

Your views are exactly the same as mine, Moor, that's why I enjoy watching the women's game.

Unlikely. Unless she was very old she's not likely to have many descendants of any nationality
