Although QPR were greatly outplayed, the sight of the Albion's free flowing attacking football was a joy to behold. Some great goals and lots of great action.

What can you say about the amazing Kevin Phillips? He scored a couple of goals, the last one was an absolutely brilliant strike. He is now aged 34 but he is still playing like a youngster.
If Albion can keep producing displays like this one they must be hot favourites to return to the Premier League next season.
Fingers crossed.

Dave.
I watched this and wondered how long gregory would last. Will he get the vote of confidence.
With regard to Chelseas problem it was there before and the behaviour of some fans to the appointment of Grant has alas been all too predicatble.I found it just as upsetting at Highbury when so called Arsenal supporters made anti semitic remarks when Tottenham played.Particularly when not only a substantial percentage of the support, myself included ,are jewish .

In connection to the debate of whether women's football can ever be compared to that played by the men.
Anyone witnessing Paul Robinson's performance between the sticks for the Spurs in their entertaining 4-4 draw with Villa, will agree that it compares in quality to that of many of the lady keepers who performed in the women's world cup.

Actually, that may be disrespectful to the females. Robinson probably rates well below the ladies standards at this moment.

I wonder - will McLaren still choose Robinson as England's number one in the upcoming Euro qualifiers or go for Calamity James?

Robert Green has been in good form this season. He should be in with a shout McLaren decides to change keeper.

Scott Carson?

Once upon a time England always seemed to have a great selection of goalkeepers to choose from. Things are not so promising at the moment.

I have read that young Manchester City keeper Kasper Schmeichel (born in Denmark) is already being encouraged to take out British citizenship so that one day he may be able to play for England.

20 to 30 years ago there were 22 goalkeepers to choose from in the First Division and now there are 3.Remember when Clemence and Shilton almost shared the keepers job.Now we have just 3,2 of whom have teflon tendancies. My first goalkeeping hero was Jack Kelsey, yes even in those days Arsenal had a "foreign"keeper!

Bonetti was my first goalkeeping hero .... that game was the only bad one I ever saw him have, and now it's the thing he's most remembered for!

i am afraid you are a bit out on dates. It was a welshman Dan Lewis who let the ball slip through his grasp in 1927.Since that date all new goal keeping jerseys are washed to take off their sheen.Lewis was said to have thrown his losers medal down on the turf.Film does exist of this goal and i have to say his performance reminds me of Paul Robinson.

Whatever happened to Robert Green? He seemed decent enough.

I still reckon that if the scummers had played Paul Smith more often, he would be in the squad now at least. Shame he chose to go there and not Pompey.

Another super result from my lot last night. The way the are playing and the brainless berk they have in charge (and his history in management) they are a good bet for relegation amongst you betting men.
