Many years ago i was 4th official at Chelse v Charlton which Charlton won 1-0.I will never forget the stick the Chelsea fans gave poor old John Hollins.Even then they were quick to get behind their manager!I wonder if Cashley is playing tonight or if he still has a twinge in his muscle, poor dear.

If he does get a twinge that would be the three 'wastes of money' missing ... Ballack, Shevchenko and Cashley ... we might be in with a chance!

ps

I was at a game recently and Cheryl was referred to as 'Cashley Hole' ..... I didn't understand it myself

pps

Earlier in the season the best chant was 'Kalou, Kalou, he hasn't got a c-lue'

Ifyou are living in Norwich why arent you supporting the Canaries?Has kenyons globalisation policy now soread to East Anglia.By the way about 40 years ago i went to Stamford Bridge to watch our lot play your lot.I paid my 4 shillings at the gate only to find that i could not get a view anywhere on the terraces so i had to leave after 15minutes.I wrote to them for my money back but never received a penny.I recon that with compound interest Abramovitch must now owe me 4 billion bounds so maybe he could transfer Sheva and we could use him in the reserve premiere league(South).

Its taken a long time for the premiership to get the fixture list back in Salford United's favour Duncan Edwards. First game of the season always at home and against a 4th or 5th from bottom finisher of last term Duncan Edwards (whats the betting on Fulham or West Ham if they stay up for first game next season at home of course Duncan Edwards) they used to play a promoted club at home first game until Man City came up and then it changed Duncan Edwards. All the big clubs played at nightmare park first and at handy drawnout intervals. Dont Travel far over the Christmas or Easter period with always 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 games played at home Duncan Edwards. When playing in Europe midweek always come back to a home game or one just up the road. Extra 5 or 6 mins on the end of a game if needed. No penalty kicks for the opposition at nightmare park Duncan Edwards. When the Portuguese ladyboy cheats a penalty fine the opposing club for showing it at halftime on thier bigscreen but dont chastise him. Acclaim the rape suspects wonder goal at Fulham that without the gargantuan deflection would have missed the stand and ended up in the Thames Duncan Edwards. Compare him to thier lost Irish son that drunken, wife beating, team abandoning fans icon. They all deserve each other. By the way did I mention Duncan Edwards?.

My dad was an Ipswich Town fan 'cos he came from Suffolk so Norwich weren't really a big deal in our house. As a young lad I wanted to be a goalkeeper and my hero was Peter Bonetti, so my dad used to take me to Portman Rd to see the great man (Norwich being in Div 2). When Norwich reached Div 1 I was able to go on my own to see them play Chelsea. After I used to go to every home game 'cos the Norwich teams of the 70s were really value for money, especially the John Bond teams. However, I still made trek to the Bridge when I could afford it. In the 80s I lived in London so the old Chelsea connection was re-inforced but the football in general was crap and the atmosphere was always a bit tense (hooligans an all that) so I drifted away. I didn't start going to football again till I returned to Norwich and the Stringer/Walker made going to Carrow Rd worthwhile again, with the occasional trip to see Chelsea thrown in. These days work and a young family keep me away from both the Bridge and Carrow Rd .... Chelsea being far too expensive for a poor NHS worker to afford (with match ticket, travel, food etc you're looking at £150 for an afternoon out). I still go to Carrow Rd occasionally (women's internationals, the odd friendly etc) but I mainly a (non Sky) TV fan these days. With regard to the current regime at Chelsea, while it is nice to see them win something for a change, I hate all the myopic siege mentality stuff dished by Jose, Kenyon etc .... it's the sort of stuff we all used to hate Ferguson for.

Cup Final prediction - CHELSKI 2 MAN USA 0 (aet)

We closed the season with a whimper; poor set of results against average sides - just hope we can pick it up again for the big one with Milan.

Meanwhile, I can chuckle at the prospect of Chelsea spending another fortune and only having the League Cup as reward. (and Steve Sidwell better get used to sitting on a bench with Wright-Phillips)

My master plan ....

swap Ballack for Sidwell
swap Shevchenko for Owen
swap Lampard for Barton (we missed the boat with the great Gerrard)
sell Robben to Real
and give Wright Phillips a chance

.... outcome ... probably Inter Toto Cup !!!!!

Ballack's a good player but I'm not sure Jose really wanted him (or Sheva). Sidwell is another strange signing, I could see hm doing well at a UEFA-challenging club like Everton but I'm not sure he's any different than old-boy Scott Parker; good but he's not going to dislodge Lampard and Essien.

I was dead chuffed when Ballack was signed (even though Jose wasn't) 'cos I think he is a wonderful player .... however, he hasn't seemed remotely interested this season and has been hugely disappointing, but not as bad as Juan Sebastien Veron was. Shevchenko is obviously past his best, he tries very hard but he simply looks worn out. Essien is the master, he and Mikel have been outstanding this season .... but Lampard has been very very ordinary, not as bad as Ballack but he seems as if his ego turns up and leaves the footballer behind in the dressing room. That's the thing that has made me cross this season, over the past two years they have been a team, but this season has been like a group of individuals. I know it's his money but Abramovich has to stop interfering, otherwise Jose will go and we'll be back to square one again. Sidwell is ok, a lot more enthusiastic than Parker appears to be these days. The team I'd like to see more often is .....

CECH
FERREIRA
TERRY
CARVALHO
BRIDGE
WRIGHT-PHILLIPS
ESSIEN
MIKEL
ROBBEN
DROGBA
COLE

...... but what do I know ?

i think it may have slipped your memory that if abramovitch had not purchased Chelsea when he did then they would have gone into administration 98 million in debt.So they could have been in the same position that Leeds now find themselves in.
