Absolutely hankoler. The only top flight side I look forward to watching. Except I hope they win the Champions League not the uefa (or was that a little joke that flew over my head?)

Norwich City have their own song ... On The Ball, City ... which is a stirring anthem, the oldest still in use I believe. When the Canaries reached the League Cup Final in 1973 the released a song called ... The Canaries. They used to run out to this dirge but the supporters hated it! Eventually normal service was resumed and On The Ball, City was re-established as the song.

Let's all sing along .....

Ah yes OTBC I well remember the crowd singing that. Interesting link, I had no idea OTBC was such an old song though! Six points adrift now hope they can beat Ipswich tomorrow

They must be crackers.

There isn't a footballer in this country I'd pay a brass ha'penny to watch.

Suspend belief and assume that Ronaldinho was playing in my local park and the entrance fee was set at a standard 5p, I'd probably go.

Perhaps..........

I had a collection of farthings my grandad gave to me .... I think they stopped making them in the mid-fifties and they were no longer legal tender by 1960. 'Brass farthings' is an old term used when describing worthless items, because farthings were the most commonly counterfeirted coins and you wouldn't even want to pay for one with a fake coin.

Great game Gooners v. ManUSA and probably a fair result in the end.

Best result by far this weekend is West Brom's thrashing of Championship leaders Watford 3-0 away from home.

What a stunner!
Premiership here we come.

That's OK.

For obvious reasons, it is my favourite coin!

I was trying to remember, without googling, when it ceased to be legal tender. I seem to have an idea that it either ceased production or they actually used the same date for the last couple of years and was finally withdrawn 2-3 years later in the early 60s.

They stopped making them in the mid-fifties and they were no longer legal tender by 1961. According to Wikipedia the end of the farthing is mentioned in the first ever episode of Z-Cars.
