I would have thought they would be shouting it out at you each derby matchday by the way i think that spurs should change their kit to green.Just to mirror their envy.Just think they have a game this weekend which they just might avoid losing against Wigan.

Orph, this a game nothing else. Don't envy us or be angry because we have won more in Europe, rubbing it in a bit, hehe. The idea is for us, no matter how near or how far behind any club in the UK, to enjoy Brit clubs victories in Europe, whoever they are.

I for one will always enjoy Man Utd winning the champions league way back and the same would be said, even for Arsenal, we stick together. Spurs have a long way to go and we can do it. Stand beside British sides, support them in all they do. "Once an Island always an Island".

Default Cheering despite yourself

Greetings Lord Ted,
I have to agree with your sporting line on this. Even as a Liverpool fan I will still never forget watching Man Utd's jaw-dropping seizing of the moment when they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the Champions League final of 99. When you see the game played to the absolute height of drama and passion it transcends the cynical and jaded spectacle that we endure most weekends. You reach a point where slagging off your rivals isn't just boring it says a lot more about you than the intended target. Arsenal's failure in the final two years ago, after a great campaign, gave me no satisfaction. I didn't exactly lose sleep over it but I would rather always rather see a Premiership side win it then anyone else.

Great front page headline in the UK paper 'The Sun' today.
It reads "MISS ROO".

Wayne Rooney has been injured (again!!!) in training and is said to be out for at least four weeks.
England's chances to qualify for Euro 2008 just got worse - and their chances were none too clever to start with.

I also see that Terry Venables (probably to save his own job) has also come out in print to tell the FA not to be too hasty in sacking McClaren and his staff if England fail to qualify next week.
Venables thinks that the FA should stick with McClaren because "The team has improved".
What planet are the England management on?

Dave.

The planet Delusional ..... .

In psychiatry we have an acronym that describes Venables comments nicely. We work in the 'care' profession so the acronym is ...

C.A.R.E. = cover ass retain employment!

What i find a touch ironic about the arguement that i seemed to have whipped up,indavertnetly i might add ,is thatthe 2 people who are having a go are by virtue of their locations unlikely to attend games in the UK.I suggest that you go to the Spurs fanzines online. They seem to spend most of their time pouring vitriol on us.And as for them wanting to see us win any game be it at Under16,Ladies or Champions League final, well you are really having a laugh.Unlike you mix with Spurs fans as i doand they are the most frustrated splenetic bunch i have ever met,in a nice way of course. So when they lost to Gtafe, that great power in the Spanisl League,3rd from bottom i believe,it gave me the biggest laugh since the previous Sunday when they lost in the last minute.
The point is that if you dont have local rivals and you are not in the midst of it then i am sorry that you cannot understand. You are merely armchair supporters of your club not people like myself who sit out in the rain cold heat sleet and snow to support their team.Having been one of the 4000 odd souls who were the lowest ever attendance at Highbury i think that i have the moral high ground here.

Cosy home win for us. Amuses me that a club in crisis can be ahead of Chelsea and 3 points off the top. God bless tabloid journos.

Being a born and bred Mancunian (from the red side of manchester) I watched the 2005 final ,liverpool - AC Milan and at half time 3-0 I have to admit I had a Frankie howerd moment " Titter ye not missus " at liverpools predicament .
There is an intense rivalry between the cities of manchester and liverpool, but on this evening I have to admit that I was hoping at first that they wouldn't be embarassed ,and when they actually won ,I couldn't help but admire them for their perseverance, the best team won.I don't think liverpool come anywhere near united for the way they play the game ,but their achievements speak for themselves .

I sorry I can't produce the photo on this, but there is a picture hung up in my club of a disgruntled, fed up looking baby, wearing a Sunderland FC hat,and there is a caption next to it:
Of all the places in all the world,I had to be born a f*****g Makkem.
